Its back again...

I was in CVS today and they are running the free $30 gift card promotion with transfer of a prescription.

Last time the coupon needed to get the $30 gift card was printed in the weekly ad. The store I was at didn't have any, so I don't know if this is the only way to get them or not.

Others in the past have reported that competing pharmacies (Kroger, Albertson's, and the such) have matched this deal...never tried it myself though.

I'm not sure when the deal ends...I am guessing sometime in mid to late April...the signs hanging in the store said they were to be removed 4/15/06.

Edit: I believe the expiration to be 4/29/06, but don't hold me to that...Valid only in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi or Oklahoma...not valid in NY or NJ

The signs were hanging where at? Do you have a little more detail? Where was the store at that you were in? ugh info would be nice.

I am in houston...the signs were hanging from the ceiling (like normal signs hang)...this should be nationwide as it always is...

no more detail than that, sorry...

looked on Ebay and someone has them on there...and it says 4/29/06 expiration

Can you link to your store's AD, as I can not see the promotion in my place. Or post your Zipcode

They have them in Houston - where it the Sunday paper circular. Probably have some in the stores. I know that Houston stores such as Target, Kroger, Walgreens will take competitors coupons because I do it all the time. THe trick is you can't use it if you transfer from another CVS but other than that you should be good. You will need a paper coupon if you want to try to competitor match.

Would someone be kind enough to send me a couple of these? I would really appreciate the help. Have been filling a lot of prescriptions lately and it all adds up..... Thanks in advance. Please send me an PM if you can help.

Online only says "See next page for details" that is PAGE 22 (ironically PAGE 21 also says the same). No coupon. If any one could PM me the scanned coupon, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

I have 4 coupons that I don't use. I'll mail them to the first 2 people that PM me their names and addresses (so each of you will get 2). I don't think CVS will take the scanned coupon.

Has anyone ever done this and actually made money? Seems like some prescriptions are less than $30.

Rx's less than $30, doesn't matter. CVS honors other coupons as well (Competitors: ie Rite Aid, Eckerd, WalGreens). I work there. Giftcards only though and that better be a new Rx or transferred, unless the pharmacy tech doens't know what he's doing hehe.

Edit:
I forgot to mention that when you use your Extracare Card/CVS card that for every two prescription you get a $1 back (it prints out every quarter, ie every for months, one time someone got $25 extra bucks). When you give your phone# it does not usually credit your account, but you get the stuff on sale (they don't usually say this, unless they know)

I tried using this at Target, but they only accept competitors coupons up to $25. Has anyone had success at CVS or anywhere else? I'm going to try at CVS tomorrow, I'll post my results.

MY CVS here in Texas has it posted on their LED signs outside the store. Makes me think you wouldn't even need a coupon...

I used the scanned coupon I printed on this tread in one of the drive thru cvs in fairfax va and it worked fine. The manager came over saying that he's never seen anything like it and asked where I got it - I said it came to me in email. It worked fine. Thank you,

Confirmed, it works. Got my script from Kroger, went to CVS for the transfer and when I went to pay for it, whipped out the printout and they did the giftcard thing.

Now, I gotta go look for the old $10 scripts I need to "refill"....

Rep to the OP.....

I have a few questions because I can't read the details on the coupon printout (thanks so much for posting that by the way!) and wanted to know before I went in....

I know some drugstores don't count a transfer if you have moved, they'll only count the transfer bonus if you are switching to another local location. Is this true of CVS (I just moved from VA to MD and want to make the switch)?

Also, does anyone know if you can do this more than once at a CVS? I have a few prescriptions to transfer - can I get the $30 for each, or is it only one per customer? I know in another thread people suggested trying multiple stores, but if I can do it an easier way that would be great!

Thanks everyone!

just used at cvs today... took them forever to get it entered since the barcode wouldnt scan and they couldnt make out the numbers on the little tiny coupon... it might be easier to use at a competitor (target, kroger, etc) since they wont be trying to scan it

I just got back from my local cvs during my lunch break. It did take them 4 ever to scan it they just ended up typing something in...oh well it was worth it for $30 and my prescription was $1.69 for 2% hydrocortisone!

If anyone has a coupon to share I could really use it.I don't know what people do when they get really sick with these crazy presription prices.

EDIT-I used the scanned coupon at CVS.They had to get the manager but I got the $30 gift card.Unfortunately the prescription was significantly more than that.

Attached is the newest coupon, which expires 8/1-06. It's only for $25, but every bit helps, right? Rite Aid has one in the circular that starts June 11th, but that one's only for $20. It's been my luck that both Krogers and KMart will accept competitors' coupons. Meijers and Walgreens have not.

I used the CVS $30 at Target in Raleigh, NC. I asked and they said they they don't openly advertise but would accept it up to $25. I would rather have $25 at Target than $30 at CVS as I don't shop there much. The RX was only $3 for me with my insurance so I had $22.00 left to spend which was no problem. THey didn't give me a gift card to take but had me ring up my other purchases at the RX counter and applied the the gift card.

Thanks OP!!
