Welcome, my fellow SoCal'er :) Please post SoCal specific deals, sale prices, SCO locations, store discussion, or general chic-chat here. Maybe one of these days we will start a club and meet for teas  Please continue to post deals that apply to the CVS general community in the main threads.
p.s. To all CVS'er from other areas - there's no disrespect. I love ya'll  Just that being in one of the few highest priced area, SoCal seems to have sales/ prices different from other markets so it might be helpful for us to share local information in a separate thread. You are more than welcome to chime in any time.

CVSes That are nice with Stacking!
Sunset & Beaudry - Nice, but i suggest RARELY doing it because once they find out, you can't do it anymore.
Villa La Jolla Dr.- Nice store, and will take all coupons as long as they are for that item and go through.
1401 SOUTH BALDWIN AVENUE ARCADIA, CA 91006 I stack all the time here with no issues.
Southern California CVS Deathstar Store Listing
The list is to provide Deathstar Southern California Locations. Deathstar CVS are unfriendly stores to customer using Coupons, ECBS, etc. The unfriendliness is normally perpetuated by the store management. There will be 2 list: Official and Pending. The CVS Official list are locations confirmed by multiple CVSers customers as a Deathstar Store. The pending list are possible Deathstar store locations waiting for more confirmation by other CVSers customers. Pending store could be a misunderstanding, or bad cashier. Just state your SD name as confirmed by the store location.
If you want to share long specific details, please posted in the Southern California CVS thread or in other threads. The list is to help current, new and potential CVS shoppers to avoid the hardship and disappointment of the CVS experience. Note: CVS will be constantly changing and not permanent. Thank You!

Official Certified Deathstar Stores:
Store #8883: 3911 SOUTH BRISTOL STREET, SANTA ANA, CA 92704 Confirmed: Vodreaux
(Some of the Employees may think internet coupons are photocopies) If SCO work, it can be a great store.
Store #9617: 2103 SOUTH ATLANTIC BOULEVARD, MONTEREY PARK, CA 91754 Confirmed: Endollan
Store #9679: 1485 EAST VALLEY BOULEVARD, ALHAMBRA, CA 91801
(This used to be a great store, but change of management(store mgr Naviar?) and store policy cause the store to not accept any Printable coupons(ie xx off yy from your email or IP coupons)
Store #9776: 1117 EAST IMPERIAL HWY., PLACENTIA, CA 92870 Confirmed: slayers750 -- Store Manager: Karl Kennedy, also all of the SS there are coupon nazi and follow their Store Manager.
Store #9765: 312 NORTH EUCLID STREET FULLERTON, CA 92832 Confirmed:slayers750
(This store will only take 1 like manufacturer coupon per transaction even if you buy more than 1 of the same item -- Example -- only 1 B2G1 Soyjoy coupon allowed, even if you bought 21) - name withheld since SS used to be coupon friendly and could be under pressure from store manager / district manager.
Store #9721: 1401 SOUTH BALDWIN AVENUE ARCADIA, CA 91006 Confirmed: idigcheapies
Avoid Shift Supervisor Jose, also avoid two hispanic female cashiers (VERONICA? big fat girl with crooked teeth?), very coupon-nazi, if you see them working the cash registers, just leave immediately. However if you see either of these two young asian boys, one with glasses and one without, both with spiky hair, they are very coupon friendly and don't ask any questions (they seemed like they could care less about their job). They follow the "if it doesnt beep, let it go" rule. Steven and David are also coupon friendly and they are both asians also.
Store #9716: 5585 NORTH ROSEMEAD BOULEVARD TEMPLE CITY, CA 91780 Confirmed: idigcheapies
white lady always questions when using printable cvs coupons. she asked me if i photocopied them! not coupon friendly at all. she would claim to never have seen the cvs coupons before.
Store #8869: 6755 QUAIL HILL PARKWAY, IRVINE, CA 92603 Confirmed: Coupon_dealer
SoCal CVS Stores/Staff Information & Background:
Store #9481: 12444 BEACH BOULEVARD, STANTON, CA 90680 Confirmed: Aristo93
Brittnee (asst. manager) is very unhelpful and downright nasty and rude and Job scrutinizes/questions EVERY coupon and will find whatever reason she can not to take them. *Shift supervisor by the name of Rafael is also a bad apple at this store, does the same thing as Brittnee*
Store #8850: 19121 BEACH BOULEVARD, HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA 92648 Confirmed: Aristo93
Store policy defined by store manager is NOT to take any kind of Internet Printables (IP). CVS issued coupons and MFQ, including CRT that does not scan through, they will not overrwrite in any circumstances. If it scans, then it scans.... routine.
Store #9577: 7191 WARNER AVENUE, HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA 92647 Confirmed: Aristo93
Store manager Mary Payton and assistant manager Jason are rude when it comes to coupons. Accused generic extra care bucks issued by CS fradulent because they were not printed from register, but from a CRT scanner. If coupon (CVS/MFQ) does not scan, they will not take it or overrwrite it, they tell you because Lost Preventention (LP) told them that it's the way things work here.
Store #8885: 7542 EDINGER AVENUE, HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA 92647 Confirmed: Aristo93
Store is run by John Conrad and assistant manager Amir. Amir has his backbone attached to Jim, Loss Prevention Division of OC. You cannot use 5 coupons for 5 same items in one transaction, you cannot use xx/xx off after all manufacuter/cvs coupons is scanned, if below a certain amount, he will not take it. i.e $3 off $15 cannot be used when all MFQ are scanned and total is now below $15. Amir is hardcore and every excuse he tells you is that Jim/LP told me to do so and that is his "boss". If you visit that store and use a xx/xx off, do not forget to call CS and tell them that Amir does not know his policy. CS will call and tell him to scan your xx/xx off! Gotta love Amir.
Store #8862: 12031 BROOKHURST STREET, GARDEN GROVE, CA 92840 Confirmed: Aristo93
Store is run by Tommy Wong and assistant manager are James and Jaime. Does not take any Internet Printables (IP) and most of the cashiers throughout the shift hates coupons. Poor customer service store that doesn't give a crap about customer, even had cases where one of the cashier yelled at the customer.
Store #8874: 1660 WEST KATELLA AVENUE, ANAHEIM, CA 92802 Confirmed: Aristo93
Store is run by Joshua Smith and assistant manager Tom. Does not take any Internet Printables (IP) and does not let you use 5 coupons for 5 same items. Do not attempt to go if you plan to do that so you can reach xx amount to use xx/xx off.
Store #9510: 15421 BROOKHURST STREET , WESTMINSTER, CA 92683 Confirmed: Aristo93
Store is run by Kim. Internet Printables (IP) of xx/xx off from the internet such as recent Virginia Richmond and NewsDay are recorded. They put your last 4 digit of Extracare Card # on the coupon to prevent from using more than once *Limit one coupon per customer*.
Deathstar Pending Stores:
Store #9615 19353 Victory Blvd Reseda, CA Was told today that a memo was just sent down from Corporate about tightening the reins on coupons. I had to break up a transaction into a bunch of other ones due to it. She read every. single. solitary. coupon. before either scanning it or declining it. I also couldn't get any overage even though the coupon was for the exact item I bought. It beeped then she told me it was because the item was less than what the Q was for (it was on 90% off clearance). She was nice and did all the separate transactions without attitude, but I regret going back to CVS since they are really being silly about declining coupons that they will be reimbursed for.

Hello Fellow So cali cvs 'er.....
Ok I just saw a post about coupons/gc and firing to bring the highlights of the post....
Yes as a matter of fact employee(s) have been "let go" over coupon usage. I will nto go into specifics to this but in a nice tactful way it has been noted on this but excessive should not be a part of being let go from a company. I will advise (share my info) to a cashier that if they don't want to I can go right down the block and shop @ albertsons, Ralphs, or any other drug store that has the same products .... A store that doesnt want to accept as many coupons as you have is potentially losing the business from you as they will never know if you have a need for a specific product on the spur of the moment and buy it at an outrageous inflated price and thats what they prey on is that.

I don't know if anyone is having trouble finding the Lypsyl here in SoCal like they are in other areas, but the CVS on Torrance and Anza in Torrance had a bunch- at least 8 of each-when I went in last night.
Just in case anyone was looking!

Went to 2 stores today. They had NONE of the the monthly deals but both were well-stocked with Soft Soap Spa. $1.50 coupon came out in the insert of "La Opinion" today....along with a $1.50 off Colgate that works on the $2.99 March monthly deal! Also some other good coupons that I can't remember right now. (I think a $1.00 off Mennen and Lady Speed stick...???) Anyway, good coupons for only 50 cents!
Also, Raisin Bran coupon $3/2 worked fine....no beeps.

I'll be traveling to Anaheim (Disneyland area) next month and was wondering if any of you can suggest some coupon friendly stores.
I will have EB's expiring the week before we leave and if I don't get them all rolled, it would also be nice to hear of any stores in/around this area that will accept them expired...
thanks!

I have had luck at 2011 EAST LA PALMA AVENUE ANAHEIM, CA 92806. They took my expired ECB's without blinking recently. Maybe it was just my luck with that particular cashier; I don't know. Also my experience in this area in general seems to be favorable compared to most on this board. Also the store at 1875 NORTH KRAEMER BOULEVARD
PLACENTIA, CA 92870 has been good but I've had no general problems in North Orange County. Good Luck!

As always this is a YMMV as the 2nd store listed there are agreeable cashiers and in a polite way distraught cashiers that give you the evil eye. Every encounter is always a YMMV since the two stores youve listed are cranky sometimes. If you think the North OC stores are so good, why not go to the Rose store and then you tell me how "favorable" they are to you.

Thank you Whazup for the addresses. I'll load them in the GPS for when we get there. Thanks also to Crystal for the warning. I understand about the YMMV - this is also true of the stores/cashiers around here.
I do appreciate the suggestions and soooo can't wait for some warm CA sunshine again!!!!!!

We have ALOT of cvs's here. If you don't like one, drive a very short distance and you'll find another.
Speaking of gps units. I have a garmin nuvi and "CVS" does not bring up all the cvs's. IF they were converted from Sav On (which is how CVS got so many stores here a few years ago), they are still listed as sav ons. If I'm in an area that I don't frequent, I'll go to shopping then pharmacies but SOMETIMES going to Sav On actually gets me to a "real" Sav On (owned by albertsons who still have some in store Sav Ons).
If you plan on going to lots of cvs's while here, might be worthwhile to have your gps pre loaded with cvs addresses.

wow i didnt know there was a thread completely dedicated to socal cvsers...
and i didnt know there were so many of you! :)
no wonder everytime i walk into a cvs all the ecb merchandise is gone :P
Have anyone had any luck using the $5/$15 coupon with the $3/$15 beauty coupon or the $/$ CVS Brands in the SGV area? I was told by the cashier that their policies have changed. Only one coupon per transaction is allowed now and the coupon must have the customer's name on it to be valid.
I haven't been shopping at CVS as much as before and lately I haven't gotten any CRTs. No even the $/$ CVS Brands CRT which was about the only one I got mostly of the time. Could it be due to my break from CVS or has CVS stopped printing CRT?

Alton and Jeffrey (24 hour cvs) has a new policy...... one ecb or one $/$$ but not both. They wouldn't let me use a $3/$10 cvs items with my ecbs tonight and another SD'er PM'd me this morning that they were told the same thing at that store this weekend.
No other store in Irvine appears to have this policy, although the one on Harvard and Main will only allow one like manu coupon per transaction.

Okay y'all, here's a story that sounds like an April Fool's Joke, but it's for real.
I was going into the DeathStar CVS at Bristol & Sunflower in Santa Ana to finish off my March deals when I notice a lot of commotion in the parking lot. I was about to park when I decided to swing around to see what's going on. Lo and behold, I see a bank robber jumping into a waiting getaway car. Doing what any good SDer would do, I give chase, thinking there's got to be some kind of reward at the end of this. I darted across Bristol across lines of traffic and into parking lot @ NW corner in hot pursuit. I'm joined by a white pickup who turns out to be a retired cop. We box in the guy on Sunflower. The cop jumps out with a gun an aims at the robbers. Of course, I'm parked right behind the robber car, and thinking that the cop might mistake my junker for an accomplice car, I freeze too. The car in front then throws it into full reverse, hits me, and then he takes off. As the air bags deflate, I see the cop squeezes off a few rounds, missing the tires at point-blank range, and the car speeds off, only to be caught a few blocks down the road by a high school truancy officer.
Here's the full scoop, or at least the TV-dramatized version: http://www.myfoxla.com/myfox/MyFox/pages/sidebar_video.jsp?contentId=6185763&version=1&locale=EN-US
There's another vid at www.ktla.com if you scroll down the videos, but I don't know how long it will remain there.
Anyhow, a wise word for any good samaritan wannabe's, "don't do it."
1. After my car gets totalled, the cops don't even have decency to ask me if I'm okay.
2. I get a ride to the station in the prisoner compartment, quite uncomfortable for someone my size.
3. No one bothers to say thanks, not even the chic who recovered her $10G.
4. The cop with the gun gets all the credit while it was a series of other people who participated in the chase, including after the car got away from the retired cop.
5. They keep me at the police station till late, last in the witness lineup, so I miss out on all the March deals!
6. I get nothing to eat at the station, just cheap, rotten coffee.
7. They are making me pay for towing and storage of my wreck until they can get the robber to pay, but he's likely broke and facing deportation after his prison term.
8. My insurance doesn't pay a dime (SDers always take minimum coverage on their vehicles)
9. I have to pay SAPD to get a copy of the police report to give to my insurance even though they don't pay a dime.
10. I have a neck injury and I have to pay my own way. Again, I could sue the robbers, but for what?
Oh, and if you watch the vid, you see me clearing out my car of all my loot before they tow it away :)

I just saw the those videos tonight. You are now a famous person on here on SD!
Too bad you can't get paid for appearing on TV and talking to the news!
Finally saw what that deathstar CVS down there looks like!
:applause: -- goes to show you we have the most famous people of all of the subforums here on SD.
Wow, I never thought they would make you pay for the towing and storage even after helping them out.
The worst part will be your next injury. :sadwalk: -- that will probably cost the most.
So how is your Store Visit Feedback Form going (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showpost.php?p=10143676&postcount=1227)? Also, thanks for the info on the end of the OC post in my area. The costs of getting coupons for me have gone way up.
I just hope at the very least that CVS now realizes who you are now and gives you better treatment with your coupons. :)

Dude, that is awesome, dangerous but good for you. Repped. I used to live right near there long time ago and I been inside the former Sav-on CVS, Office depot and Franklin Covey. Glad you are ok.

Wow, that sucks. They took my 3/10, my 2 manu Q's (for Palmolive and Windex) and my $8 ECB. This isn't the CVS I usually go to cause they're usually a pain about coupons, but I was in search of Softsoap, (which I STILL cannot find!)

Alton and Jeffrey just took a $3/$10 AND an ecb in the same transaction? I had the shift supervisor come over last night cuz I just could NOT believe they were not letting me do this and she also said this was their new "policy". I have never had any trouble at that store in the past.
I will just about bet that if they are going to try that with everyone CS will be on the phone with them in the not too distant future when they get enough complaints.
(They TRIED to tell me ONE ECB PER TRANSACTION, but the shift supervisor backed down on that when I pressed her).

I know when I was out on Saturday every store I hit had it fully stocked up. Unfortunately for me, I was finishing up my March deals and didn't get out to cvs until Tuesday and haven't found a bottle since.
It's a month long deal though, so hopefully it will be restocked for us. This isn't a smaller vendor like lypsil was and lypsil seemed to be restocked in a few of the stores I hit at the end of the month.

No Softsoap by me either, I got one Sat. when the ECB's were printing early and then I bought a bunch of papers to get the -$1.50 q on Sunday- and all the Softsoap was gone! I went to 3 stores before noon!
I have not been able to find any Softsoap Spa at several stores also. Most of the cashiers said to check back next week when they get their next shipment. Hopefully the Softsoap Spa will be among the items that are delivered.

I had one each left to get to max out to 5 on my two primary cards.
The previous Friday and Saturday I alerted the cashiers who coupon at that location to get it before Sunday so we all cleaned it out before the $1.50/1 coupon hit. I used the $1/1 coupon out from a few weeks before.

whole lot easier if i can keep it all in one store.
there's only one inconvenient walgreens near work for me but about 8 cvs's between work and home.
i'm not going out of my way to get toothpaste for 50c when i've been getting it free. (well, not until we run out... then i'd just go get it at costco like we used to)
working cvs deals is kinda like doing rebates... they stick around because most people (probably) just toss ecbs in the trash just like most people don't bother with rebates.
3 garnier face wipes for $9 is nice (after coupons and ecbs), but trader joes(!) has wipes for about $2 apiece, so we can save money there...
oh well... as you said... there are other places to get deals...
hopefully the b1g1 arm/hammer detergent will be decent price to begin w/ so i can burn some of my not-so-huge pile of ecbs (i usually have about $20-$30ecbs at my disposal)

I'm with you on the Walgreens. I can walk to at least two cvs's from my house (two others are close enough that I could walk that distance if some emergency occurred...... not that I would walk to cvs in an emergency, but that is how close they are). Walgreens isn't nearly as convenient and I always pay oop there. With the price of gas and how snooty they are it just isn't really worth it to me to go out of my way to get to Walgreens for things that are already stockpiled at my house. Usually cvs will run a promo with the same items that walgreens has anyway.

Quail Hill has the same policy. I don't like Quail Hill mostly because of one cashier there.
Alton and Jeffrey MIGHT tell u that you can't combine any cvs coupons (like $3/$10 cvs) with ecbs.
If u don't have price scanners where u r or don't get the $3/$10 cvs, scan away. You can get one per day per card.

Thanks for the info! Those are some pretty crappy rules there. The only thing I haven't seen yet are the self-checkouts. I think I'll check out the one on Culver. Oh, and the google maps street-view thing is really creepy. I didn't know of this new feature.

Some slickdealer has discovered that store. They are usually sold out of whatever the weekly free deals are within hours from my experience. (That is the closest store to me. I sometimes walk there for the exercise) and it USED to be good for finding stuff that no one else had, but not lately. The employees tell me they are inundated early on Sundays with "coupon people". LOL!
And also, they SOMETIMES get monthly deal stuff in but either they sell out quickly and don't get a restock or just don't get it in at all. It's a fairly small store out of the way and I figure they don't stock as much cuz they know not as many non slickdealers even go there.

Oh wait......... do you mean the one in foothill ranch or orchard hills? I was talking about the one in Orchard Hills (Irvine).
My sister lives at the one in Foothill Ranch (near Walmart). She is not a slick dealer and rarely uses coupons, but her comments to me are always the same............ "no way you would get good deals at the cvs near me. They are mean!".
I was out to prove her wrong so one day I drove up there and got my deals done. That store is a pretty decent size store, out of the way though. I don't remember if they had stuff in I needed or not, but I do remember saying........ not worth the time or gas to get there.

If you don't have CVS brand merchandise in your order DON'T think about using the 3/10 CVS Brand coupon (the one we get from the scanner/printer). One cashier at Santa Monica & 26th was just fired for allowing customers to use it without buying any CVS brand merchandise. Corporate is watching.
Santa Monica & 26th is getting a new manager from National & Sepulveda. I'm not a big fan of some of the employees at National/Sepulveda so I hope no changes. Corporate is coming in Friday to S.M./26th so they're putting the store in tip-top shape.
They got a big shipment in of the CVS Beauty coupon book @ 26th & Santa Monica so hopefully they'll have them out soon. I was "given" a bunch. Sure is a tiny book.

On page 9 of our CVS ad, there is the Get $10 ECB's wyb $20 of Any Revlon Product (limit 5). Prices Starting at 49 cents.
It seems to be for CA only has it shows the Revlon Run/Walk for Women event in Los Angeles on May 10, 2008.
This is similar to a promotion that was only for CA back in May 2007.
Don't know if this will end up to be a monthly deal for CA or just a weekly deal.
anyone knows which revlon product is priced at $0.49?

Santa Monica & 26th just got their shipment of 18oz. Softsoap Spa. If you need it, go get it tonight. It is in the place of the 12 oz. on the top shelf about 5 feet to the right of the regular Softsoap. They have tons of it even after I just bought 10 just minutes ago...

So is the softsoap still valid today for Friday?
Also , I am not sure if anyone had this problem but one of my ECBs came back as being invalid for my card even though it was for my card when the cashier scan my ecb certificate. Anyone know why it is happening or had had this happen to them in the past?

uhm , i have this problem before , they cannot scan my ECB in my correct card. hixhix
finally , they said that maybe i have 2 card but in the same phone number.
Now, when i go to CVs, i just told them my phone number and the ECB go thru.
i don't show my extra card any more . The 4 digit at the end of my card is 7211 . If i just told cashier my phone number , the 4 digit in my receipt is 5721 . However, They have the same : offer reach limit , deals i got at the bottom of my receipt.

Have you ever used your phone number instead of your card to purchase items? If so, then you will get a different-looking number on your receipt, just as the PP mentioned. However, it's not really a different number; it's your card number with the last number cut off. Notice that the PP's last 4 digits are 7211. When she used her phone number the last "1" fell off and now her new ECB's show the last 5 numbers of her card, minus the last number; i.e. 5721. The "721" numbers are the same, and it is still the same account, same card, just different-looking numbers.
I think this may be CVS's way of keeping track of how many people use their phone numbers instead of their card. (JMHO on this part.)

This is the main reason why I never use my phone number. Just in case the ECB's beep down the line -- don't want any trouble because of what you described above. :)

Two different $6 ECB's would beep when scanned (third different $6 ECB was fine and that was the last scanned). Cashier entered the codes manually and same thing. She asked her manager to sign them just so she would not get in trouble then just manually took $6 off each one.
It also happened to me a week ago this past Sunday and at least 2 other occasions in April alone.

This has happened to me 2x's as well in the last month. Might be because they're from the same deal - i.e. trying to use 2 softsoap ECBs (40484XXXX, 40484XXXX) in a transaction, like code is the one beeping? That's what used to happen in the past before they went all 9 digit on us - I'll try to figure out next time.

They had 3 or 4 days remaining before being invalid.
I used a number of ECB's tonight and had no problems but those $/$$ coupons for this weekend were beeping for every customer. I saw three people this evening that had them and they didn't work. My cashier said it hasn't gone through for anyone.

It appears to me what is happening is that an ecb is generated and it adds to the receipt your item, but then somehow the server isn't updating it because I've had several instances where items I KNOW I reached the total on (more than one transaction) did not include the first group of items....... ie. I bought the two covergirls that counted for $6 ecbs each and the total was noted on the bottom of the receipt as 2 purchased and limit not reached. I later bought the covergirl that generated 6 ECBs with the covergirl that counted towards $20 of covergirl. It was noted on the bottom of the receipt that I had only one (I had the receipt still that showed I bought the other two and the $12 ecbs were still attached to it. The 6 ecbs printed. I now had all $18 ecbs for the covergirl (one $12 and one $6) but the receipt only showed I had bought one.
Since it now said limit wasn't reached, I decided to test out my theory that somehow the server didn't store the data even tho I received my ecb by buying two more covergirls (total of five now..... limit was three) and indeed received another $12 ebc.
I attempted to use the original $12 ecb that was generated on the deal (hey...... it was legitimately earned by me) and yes, it did beep. The cashier pushed it thru since it was for my card. The new $12 ecb printed and now my receipt showed that I reached my limit. The new $12 ecb never beeped, only the first one that somehow didn't stick to my receipt even though I earned that ecb and bought the covergirls.
Not only that........ everthing else I bought in the same transaction also "fell off" and yes, they all beeped for invalid acct.
Now I note when I buy something if everything is accounted for on my receipt the next time I use the card and if something isn't...... I know those ecbs ain't going thru willingly.
Check your old receipts if you have any. I bet the offending ecbs were added to your totals (to be clear....... they do show up on the receipt in which they are originally purchased, but down the road, somehow they don't stay there. It's as if you didn't purchase the item).

I noticed that. Maybe we'll get them on another week.
Supposedly Alton Store (Irvine) is back to taking mutliple ecbs and one $/$$ per transaction. I spoke with one of the supervisors today and he said the cashiers were told last week they can take as many ecbs and one $/$$ coupon. I kept saying...... are you SURE cuz I don't want to get into an argument when u aren't here (they of course were OUT of the toothpaste, deodorant and toothbrushes so I wasn't gonna spend anything there today) and he said yes. When I was leaving he had gone over to the cashiers to make sure they were aware they were to take multiple ecbs.
YEAH!!!!

This is the Hidden Deal regarding the CVS toothbrushes and not the Colgate toothbrushes.
It is free in some places, only $0.99 in other places after ECB, and of course regular price for us. :(

reps for taking one for the team...
i uploaded some pix last night and went in to pick them up... they either got misplaced or never got made so the photo lead got them going and said it would be about 10-15 minutes... so i just prowled the store looking for monthly free after ecb deals since the only deals i could bring myself to work out for the week were the cvs toothbrushes and the kiss nail stuff. neither was marked as anything and neither was in the weekly ad (which i just saw today since it didn't come in friday's junk mail for some reason) so i just passed on them and got 1 apiece of the colgate toothbrush, tums, adidas, and 1 of the mints...
came out about a buck and change ahead after the 3/15. without the possible toothbrush and kiss deal, i probably would have just skipped cvs this week. my wife has enough venus razors to go about as long as i can with various other blades. and my ecb count is dropping so no need to get anything we don't really need w/o having a net positive change in ecbs...
i'll work on the monthly deals later in the month when i hunt down some coupons or if next week ends up looking better...went from a week of maybe gaining about $10 to break even and that only due to monthly stuff...
i'll just go back and get the other mint for $1.50 and get the $2ecb and be done.
need another limit 5 contour week. :)

I noticed a dozen eggs has gone up again @ CVS. Was $2.69 now $2.99. 4 months ago they were $1.59. Almost a 100% price increase in just 4 months. I would complain until what I saw at Ralphs this evening. Eggs @ Ralphs are on sale this week for $2.99 but the regular price has increased to $4.19 & I saw one organic brand @ Ralphs tonight for $7.99 a dozen. $8 for a dozen eggs? I'd give them up forever at the price. Thank goodness for ECB's & $/$$ coupons as I know how to work all my dairy products down to just pennies. Totally given up on purchasing any dairy products at the supermarkets.

Stater Bros ad has them at 1.49. Reg price is 2.79.
It's been a LONG time since we have seen inflation rage like this. I'm not at all surprised. It costs money to deliver the goods and power factories and eventually that trickles down to everything we buy.
I have been a stockpiler using coupons all my life and my kids would always roll their eyes. Their friends would sleep over and the kids would say, pick a cereal in the pantry. They had NO CLUE that everyone didn't shop like this till their friends kept making comments. Eventually they got embarrassed by all the stockpile we had and I couldn't really explain why I do this. We don't need the money (when I started out, before I had kids, I had no money, so every penny counted) but I grew up at a time when prices went up up up and if I didn't buy it on sale I didn't have the money to buy it the next week.
But for my kids...... all they have known is stable prices or declining prices. This is all new to them. My oldest daughter doesn't roll her eyes when I offer cereal, tomatoes, beans, softsoap, razors, etc any more. She gladly takes them. Good thing I'm a good couponer.

Over the years, I've learned to take couponing to an extreme. I have a lot of stock now even though I donate & share with friends and family. But it's getting harder though to get my oop down real low at Ralphs. But at CVS I've never paid $1 + tax. I only got .50 triple bucks last qtr on $2000+ savings so I do know how to "game" it well.
Last time I saw inflation like this I was learning how to drive & spending time in gasoline lines w/ dad on odd/even days.
I just spent all my personal CVS savings this year on a high end laptop which will be delivered in a couple of days. Looking forward to printing mfr. coupons from the net. My current computer is so old I can't do it. I plan on recouping the price in coupon savings.

You sound like u r probably about my age.
I learned from my dad (my dad did the shopping). My dad was and my mom is much older than I am (my mom turned 80 today  ). I know why my parents stockpiled. My dad was a kid when the depression hit (obviously pennies counted) and my mom was a teenager in Holland during WWII. My grandma would scrape the butter off the wrapper cuz who knew if they would any more all week.
In both cases they bought on sale all the time cuz they didn't know if anything would be available. In my case I didn't know if it would be crazy expensive the next week and whether I would have the money to get it.
When we first got married I remember some store put Lindsey Olives on sale and I had coupons so they were something like a quarter. Oh I loved olives but they were so expensive. I think I got at least a dozen or two cans and my father in law came over and couldn't understand why anyone would have that many olives. Course my poor hubby had no clue as to how this would develop years down the road, but he does benefit when I bring home 8 gallons of ice cream in a week with my ecbs.

I do have an obsession. If I can get an item for free with any coupon, I must have it. And I can't stand seeing my coupons expire especially free item coupons. I think I have 30 guacamole cartons from the 4/30 exp. coupon in the freezer right now (you can freeze em). I was even out the last night using the last 7 coupons I had. I have 2 questions....both are off-topic (CVS) but I am interested to know if any SoCal people have some info that they can share with me.
1) Has anyone seen the Scotch Brite Bathroom Floor cleaner kit? I can find the refills, but not the actual floor cleaner. I've looked at CVS, RA, WAGS, Target & Walmart. Anyone have any suggestions?
2) Has anyone in SoCal tried to use the WAGS RR at Albertson's? I've heard they accept them but I'm embarrassed to try.
TIA for any info you can provide!!

Wow....... they were born on the same day only a few years apart and both still living! What are the chances of THAT?
I'm the same way. My hubby will tell my kids..... oh u know mom......... can't pass up free, even if we do have enough for a year.
He puts up with me though and he even put all the cvs's around here in my garmin. They were loaded as sav ons which is a problem cuz sometimes it would take me to an actual sav on. When we would go on vacation, he would mark on a map the cvs's near the freeway for me.
Better to just give in to my little obsession and vice. At least I don't cost us money doing this.
My mom is a horse of a different color tho. She is a hoarder. She never knew if she would have bread to eat during the war so I guess this is where it comes from. I buy a TON and give it away. She won't give ANYTHING away. Thank god I didn't pick up that trait.

Wow....... they were born on the same day only a few years apart and both still living!
That would be scary...a combination of CVS coupon Queen and hoarder-i'm always amazed by those shows...and a little fearful so I limit myself to one box of each category...razors, toothpaste, etc. The rest goes to a single mom that's barely getting by.

No CoverGirl coupons in my PG insert in April and none in my May PG insert either....I thought SoCal people were out of luck. :( Today in the break room at work, I saw some inserts so I snagged them. There were 4 CG coupons in there!! (B3Gblush, $2.50/2 and two $1/1) All the coupons were in English and in Spanish on the same coupon and they said "05/04/2008" on the folded edge so I'm guessing they came from La Opinion. I didn't know there were Sunday coupons in that paper. I usually get the Friday paper because they have a small insert...last Friday they had a small SS and small RP but no PG. Next time I'll buy a Sunday La Opinion!
Of course, I jammed over to WAGS as soon as I was off work. The CG coupons didn't work perfectly because the cashier would only take the B3Gfree blush, $2.50/2 and $1/1. She said I didn't have enough items to use the other $1 Q. I paid just over $10 and got $20 RR! (Along with the blush, 2 2-packs of eyebrow pencils, one lip gloss, 2 eyeshadows!) It made my day.

Yup, my La Opinion had the same thing. I just figured it must have been the Sunday version since the tiny date along the "spine" was 05/04/2008. I am in Long Beach so it could have been an OC paper....but the coupons were bilingual.
Thanks for letting me know the OC papers have them. I will pick up some of them on PG insert weeks!

Too bad the Hoy papers don't have coupons in them any more.
OC Register has the covergirl coupons when they come in the pg inserts. For some reason LA Times never has them.

Hi newbie here...sorry to sound like such a dud but do the CVS stores in SoCal have those coupon generator things? I've tried to surreptitiously look for one in my CVS in downtown LA, but couldn't find one...I wasn't sure if I could ask the employees, they might ban me or something...:-S

I think most, if not all, of the CVS stores in the LA area have them. If you can't find it, ask one of the employees where the "price checker" is. Often it has a sign mounted above it with an arrow pointing down so you can see it from a few aisles away.

I found it in two LA area stores today. The first was Manchester/Sepulveda- they're located on the sunscreen display located in the first aisle if you walk straight through the door toward the back of the store. The second was at the Marina del Rey store in the Villa Marina shopping center- they are located in the seasonal display near the front of the store. HTH

I don't think they were the wrong kind/size. Because the labels on the shelf had the $2 extra bucks reward tag and i made sure to check that they were the same ones i had. hmm. I guess I should check that again when I go to CVS...will they let me return the items so I can get the right ones with the ECB or do they frown upon that?

You can't go by the labels in the store. Sometimes they put them under the wrong products.
Are all three boxes exactly the same with the same upc?

Hey, you guys that are in the Oceanside area....run, don't walk to CVS to get the Hawaiian Tropic lip balm!! I happened to be killing time around Carlsbad and I found a BUNCH of the lip balms at the CVS in Vista (I can't remember the address but it's on the corner of Santa Fe Ave and something....) and there were some at the CVS in Oceanside on Oceanside Blvd just off the 5 freeway. There were none at the CVS on El Camino Real (Carlsbad) or at the Oceanside store on College Blvd.
Cashiers at the one on Oceanside Blvd were really friendly, too! Nice people.

I found them at the Ontario store as well, but I still need 4 more to max out my other cards.

There's another one? I didn't know. This one was the Haven and Foothill one, but the balms are hard to find. There is a display to the left as soon as you enter the store. It's tucked over to the side, and the balms are on the side of the display--jammed next to another something display. You kind of have to reach in and pull the balms out. Unless they moved the display in the past couple of days.
Which Ontario store? Grove? Euclid? Is there another?
I've been getting just one balm and the sunscreen myself. I have a pool, and people are always coming over and using up my sunscreen, so this is a good deal for me even if I buy 2 at 9.49 each.

SoCal is southern California. As for why it has a special thread...I can't answer that. Maybe because there are tons of CVS stores & lots of CVSers and sometimes our deals are a little bit different from other areas of the country (like the Revlon deal....we got it a week before everyone else...)

There are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many cvs's here. If I put in my zip code on the cvs site I think something like 45 show up within 35 miles of here. I've seen instances where literally there are two stores across the street from each other. I can walk to two of mine and yes they all get busy and cleaned out quickly.
Since we have so many to choose from it seemed like a good idea to have our own specific thread so we can find out what "new rules" get made up. Why keep reinventing the wheel? If we have a store that has a problem with this or that, we'll just avoid it. It's also easy to point out which store might have a particular item someone is looking for. No point in wasting gas.
