This was originally posted in the CVS thread (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=33613&t=539660&highlight=cvs+cooler), but I just bought a couple of coolers at Walmart today that had the same deal, so I thought I'd post it separately from CVS in case other people were interested.

This deal is available on certain Igloo coolers purchased from any store. Field and Stream is offering a free 1-year subscription on certain Igloo coolers (there will be a big round black sticker on the front). In the cooler is the F&S subscription card, but in the fine print it reads that if you don't want the subscription, mail the following to the address provided for a 9.99 refund:

1. original cash register receipt dated within the last 30 days
2. F&S subscription card

mail this to Customer Service at Field and Stream, PO Box 63440, Tampa, FL 33663-3340

With coolers currently being clearanced, many styles will be FAR or even money makers. In any event, $9.99 back on an Igloo cooler is a pretty slick deal!

In the CVS thread, there are also people confirming they're getting multiple rebates. There is no limit indicated on the card. People are reporting success submitting them together in the same envelope. YMMV on that, though.

Here is some additional information obtained on the CVS thread as well.
1. What is the expiration date for this offer?
12/31/08

2. Am I limited to (1) refund or is there no limit?
You are eligible for one refund per card for each cooler purchased. You must submit your receipt(s) and form(s) within 30 days of purchase.

3. Which models qualify? Only select ones or do all Igloo coolers qualify?
Any cooler with a promotional sticker is included in this promotion.

4. Do I just make a note on the card that I want the rebate and not the subscription?
You can ask for a refund via the same card. By submitting it to the address in the fine print (P.O. Box #63440), the magazine will know you are requesting the $9.99, not the free subscription.

5. F&S number is 800-289-0639.

I picked up about 8 different coolers on this deal (even 2 of the really big ones)., and ended up breaking even.

I got 4 of the 1/2 gallon drink ones for my son and his friends -- they're perfect for when they play ball or go to the Y. I got 2 of the big ones for the beach or cookouts, and then 2 different medium size ones -- one I keep in the back of my van for frozen foods when I go grocery shopping, the other I'm giving to my son to keep in his trunk for when he comes home from college, to transport food in.

the 1/2 gallon drink ones were only 4.99, so I made 5 bucks on each one of them -- if I had the room, I'd get more! :lol:

I noticed the fine print and plan on trying to do this myself. Glad to hear others are actually getting their "refunds". Just purchased a 100 qt. Igloo cooler from Target for $14.37(reg. $57.49) a couple of days ago. This would make the deal even sweeter!

II've already taken out the trash, so I can't tell you what the sticker says, sorry... but it'll have the sticker on the outside, and the F&S card inside the cooler. Those are the coolers eligible for the refund.

This is a great deal. I got 8 coolers of different sizes. CVS was a good place to buy since they some of the coolers were below 9.99 and there are lots of coupons out there for CVS. They're probably sold out in most stores though.

Someone should post stores with prices for the different models.

I think Field and Stream is going to go bankrupt with this offer though so the offers are void then. :)

This isn't a CVS deal only, which is why I posted it as it's own deal. Granted, if you use some $2/$10, $4/20, etc. coupons on top of this it makes it slicker, but it still works from ANY retailer.

anyway... I went through the little coupon book that came in one of my coolers, and came across an add for this

I can select 3 magazines free for 3 months (they auto-renew after that) and I get an additional $10 back. (if I only take 1 mag I get $3.34, 2 is $6.68). Limit 1 per household.

I'll scan it and post it tomorrow, I'd like to get your opinions.

Confirmed in Louisville, Ky. CVS had the coolers 25% off. Only a pitcher type cooler was marked below $10. The big black sticker is on the top of the cooler and the magazine information is inside of the cooler.

Thanks for posting this OP, I picked up 4 coolers on clearance for $6.74 each at my Walgreens, they'll make good gifts to my family who keep getting on my case because I "never get them in on the good deals".

Ran into one problem though, I checked a couple coolers (they're the square blue ones, 48quart "Ice Cube" - awesome size for road trips or people that bring coolers to work) ... problem was I got them home and found out someone stole one of the coupon books out of the cooler, and I only have 3 Field and Stream postcards! Called Walgreens and asked them if they had extras (they had other coolers there) but all of them are empty, and they said I can't return the cooler because it is clearance, and they refuse to take clearance items back :(

Instead of perpetuating the "need" to steal these out of coolers that you do not buy, why not include a letter explaining that you only received 3 of 4, or better yet call F&S corporate office. Your receipt should explain itself.

So F&S is sending a check for $9.99 ever if the value of the cooler is lesser than that value. I got a cooler at a local supermarket but I am not sure if it qualify for the promotion. I didn't see any black sticker on it but i was able to find the F&S subscription card inside. Will I still be able to get the rebate? Also, how long does it take to received the rebate check?

UPDATE: This was just reported on the other thread

Update. I sent mine off and my friend sent hers off. We both got the check for $9.99.

I went back and bought 4 more on one ticket and now they are telling me they will only send the one? So i will not get anything for the other 4 I bought! Now they have my stuff so there is no way I can exchange it either! I'm very mad!

I called Field & Stream CS and spoke with Josh. I told him I had purchased six or seven coolers on one receipt and had the rebate card for each. I asked if I could mail them in one envelope. He put me on hold and checked. He came back and said to put them in one envelope, but to include a note that I wanted all six/seven rebates.

I would think with this reply and Annette's email reply, there shouldn't be a problem. I would, however, feel better if someone else would call and confirm this as well.

Can someone clarify which igloos work for this refund. I saw the one that is regular 8.99 but no round black sticker as on the bigger ones. It was on sale for 4.49. It was not the contour but the one with the spout and a side handle. Does this one work for the refund? Yes, I know it has been said over and over that it must have the round black sticker. But I read here that the pitcher ones work and I did see these at CVS but no sticker and no coupons on the inside. So either someone took out the coupons and so the stickers were removed or these are not the right ones. To be on the safe side I did by the picnic style ones with the top for putting your drink. That one did have the sticker.

The LEGEND, 1/2 gallon "pitcher" with handle does have the black sticker and F & S card insert, as well as the other coupon inserts. CVS regular price is $8.99. Look for it on clearance at 75% or 50% off, send in card, and make $$$.:woot:

Join the club. I bought some items on the wrong card the other day and had to return. As the supervisor came with her card for the no receipt return I mumbled that I made a mistake and used the wrong card and she just ignored me. I hate returns there. But everyone else has been great to me.

If you bought a cooler at CVS and there was no sticker on it, check at to see if it is part of the promotion at Target because the majority of the igloo coolers had stickers on them. If you see the cooler you bought with a sticker on it at Target, then it qualifies.

There is more than one playmate. I noticed yesterday a smaller one in one of the stores than I had purchased for the rebate. The smaller ones did not have the stickers on them for the rebate/savings.

I only saw one playmate. It was regular 14.99 and 7.50 on sale.
Do you remember the price of the one you had purchased? Actually, I could use a larger one. The one I got is not tall enough for the bottles.

The one with the rebate was regularly 14.99 and on sale for 7.50 so you prob have the correct one. The other was smaller and priced at 9.99 regularly.

When I took off the black sticker, I couldn't get the sticky off without making a total mess. It wasn't sticky any more but the sticker had discolored the white plastic it was on. My hubby tried everything and told me couldn't get it off but then he tried goof off which FINALLY got it off. The sticker on the blue portion of the cooler didn't have a problem, but the one on the white plastic definately did. I'm going to buy another cooler, but I'm REALLY hoping the black sticker doesn't cause such a problem. I'm giving it to someone and I don't want to give something that looked as bad as the cooler did pre goof off.

The one with the rebate was regularly 14.99 and on sale for 7.50 so you prob have the correct one. The other was smaller and priced at 9.99 regularly.

When I took off the black sticker, I couldn't get the sticky off without making a total mess. It wasn't sticky any more but the sticker had discolored the white plastic it was on. My hubby tried everything and told me couldn't get it off but then he tried goof off which FINALLY got it off. The sticker on the blue portion of the cooler didn't have a problem, but the one on the white plastic definately did. I'm going to buy another cooler, but I'm REALLY hoping the black sticker doesn't cause such a problem. I'm giving it to someone and I don't want to give something that looked as bad as the cooler did pre goof off.

Try Lighter Fluid on a rag to wipe off the sticker residue. Wash off the lighter fluid with soapy water. Then, enjoy you favorite adult beverage. :lol:

The LEGEND, 1/2 gallon "pitcher" with handle does have the black sticker and F & S card insert, as well as the other coupon inserts. CVS regular price is $8.99. Look for it on clearance at 75% or 50% off, send in card, and make $$$.:woot:

Is there only one kind of igloo pitcher with a spout and side handle for $4.49? The one I saw did not for any black sticker, F&S card insert, or the word Legend on it. Can I purchase 2 on the same transaction and received the $9.99 refund for both even if it was priced at $4.49 each? Do I include 2 F&S card for the pitcher or can I just include 1 F&S card when I mail it out?

Does the cooler you bought have a round black sticker on the outside? It may not even be a qualifying cooler. I know not all sizes had the stickers on them. I'm guessing no sticker means not qualifying size of cooler? I dunno if anyone has sent in rebate form for a cooler with no form, that they stole from another cooler. You pretty much need the rebate form to be able to send in for the rebate. There are no printable forms out there floating around. Stealing one from another cooler might be your only option. You have to send your original receipt with the form. If you take the form from another cooler, the 'rebate' could be denied if they notice you didn't purchase a qualifying Igloo product. I suppose all you'd waste is a stamp though. :)

I occassionally see one at a cvs but they always ring up at full price. I've never asked if they are actually on clearance... just put them back. Someone might actually need one and I would solely be buying for the rebate and only if on clearance. I got a few more scruples than that.

They're back to full price at CVS at this point. You might watch for these on sale at other places though - Target or Walmart. I doubt they'll go back on sale at CVS, based on how other things have tended to work.

I have copies of all of my submissions, along with the date I mailed them in. I'll give them at least 12 weeks and then begin contacting them again. That's more than enough time.

I really think they'll fulfill all of them, I just don't think they were prepared for what would happen.

You may need to contact them. I had to call them on my last 2 (I sent 3 together, and only got 1 rebate). From what the CSR said, the magazine was sold to another company (or something like that) so there's some confusion. I re-sent all my paperwork.

I finally got my last 2 checks this week, so I'm done with this one. :)

Both BIG LOTS in my area (Port Orange, FL and Daytona Beach, FL) had their coolers on clearance. They had HUGE ones for $15.99 and tons of smaller ones for $10.00 or less.

If I hadn't already bought everyone I know a cooler, I would have been having a field day :)

I called Field & Stream CS and they had no record of the 10 envelopes I sent. From the conversation I had with the CS rep, they are no longer in Florida. I don't know if that is the problem or what. Palm Coast Data is a magazine fulfillment center located in Palm Coast. They handle the fulfillment for A LOT of magazines, so it's no surprise this is where they are sending you. They must be handling the subscriptions/rebates for Field and Stream. I actually got a job there once, but only stayed for a day becauses the working conditions were so miserable. Pretty much a huge building with little cubicles for the service reps and a huge room in the back for the data-entry people.

Anyway, I still have two rebates outstanding and a friend who actually works at PCD, so I will contact her and see if she knows anything.

OK, I called F&S today and talked to a CSR at length. What I was told is that the people who owned/managed F&S sold it to some other company late in the summer (I'm assuming that's Bonnier), and of course none of our rebate info went with the transfer of ownership.

I was nice but insistent - I told them while I appreciate the fact that the previous owners may not have told them about this, I submitted my rebate in accordance with their program, and in good faith, and I was entitled to my rebate... and if I didn't get it, I'd be filing a complaint with the BBB both in NY and in FL.

They promised to email me tomorrow. We'll see what happens. They did see my previous rebates, so that's a good sign.

I received an email to resubmit my rebate. The email I received was from subsvcs@fieldandstream.customersvc.com.

I replied to the email with a scan of my submission, plus a detailed list of what I purchased, dates submitted and what rebates I've received (since I did a lot). I haven't heard anything back.

I faxed copies of 12 rebates the the number provided in this thread about a week and a half ago. I recieved a call from a CSR stating they only got copies of 8 rebates not 12, so I faxed everything again.

Today I recieved two checks for $9.99 to two of my different addresses. I'm glad I got something, but I sure would like to get the remaining 10 that they owe me. Maybe I'll try e-mailing if I don't get anything in the next few days.

Got two more today. I mailed these about the second week of October. I never contacted them regarding these rebates, they just sent them.

Looks like they are catching up on getting the rebates out.

What a deal that was! Some of these I got in Vegas for under a buck at cvs! Used them as ice buckets at the pool and left them at the resort when we left, so I wasn't too upset not getting the rebates..... cashing in at 9.99 each now...... oh so sweet!

Don't give up! I just got 7, and some of mine were sent in early August. Strange thing, though, I received one check for 5, but the name they sent it to was only on one of the forms.

Not knowing how they'd handle multiple requests, and wanting to know when each had been honored, I sent in forms with varying combinations of mine, DH's and DD's names so I'd know when they came.

I am still waiting on about 15 more, so I am still in a waiting pattern like many of you.
I sent two requests on 9/6/07 (in one envelope) but no checks. When I called the 800 number back in November, I was told I was not in the system.(They could only look up subscribers.) AFTER I read the offer terms on the postcard to her, the CSR went on insisting it should be free coolers with magazine subscriptions. Anyway, I have been tied up with school and finally found time to send in the fax (386-943-9267) in the early morning today (12/18/07). I wrote a nice cover letter and asked them to acknowledge receiving my fax by either email or a phone call.

To my surprise, I just got a call from their CSR about an hour ago. She's very polite and told me she's going to forward my fax to the processing department. I should expect the check in another 6 weeks. :)

She also explained to me the office in Tampa where I sent in my original request was long closed due to the new company taking over. That's probably why there's no record of my submission because the old company stopped processing and didn't hand things over to the new company completely/properly. She confirmed the new company will still honor the promo as long as they receive the proper paperwork/submissions. I asked her when the new company took over. She couldn't recall the exact date but told me it was late summer, maybe last August. My submission in early September happened to be during the transitional period. She apologized for the long wait but asked for 6-week processing time since it's going to the new company handling a new case.

I would advise for those who are still waiting and had mailed the requests during the transitional periods (sometimes between August and September) just fax them your copies and not to take any chances. If you send in your fax now, at least you will know they will process the requests in 6 more weeks.

I sent two requests on 9/6/07 (in one envelope) but no checks. When I called the 800 number back in November, I was told I was not in the system.(They could only look up subscribers.) AFTER I read the offer terms on the postcard to her, the CSR went on insisting it should be free coolers with magazine subscriptions. That time frame explains why I got all my rebates. I sent my original sets in early Aug and then the last ones in mid October. Lucky I guess I was so busy that I didn't have the time to send the last set in until it was almost a month after I got them.

I sent some to my mom's house and picked up another three she got late November today.

I was told I could email copies to:

I tried that email on December 5th, with no reply. Tried this one found on the field and stream website on December 15th: amanda.mcnally@bonniercorp.com Did not receive a reply.

Also sent one to the webmaster at Field and Stream on the 19th.

All three times I attached scans of my receipts and rebate forms. BTW, all of my forms were sent beginning of September.

Today I received all of my rebate checks. They are dated December 15th, so I am guessing the second one I tried worked. Just some info for people still not getting theirs!:cool:

Still coming in here as well. I've never contacted them since sending them in back in Aug/Sept. I sent in around 15 or so and received 8 checks back.

I mailed my original rebates in early September. After faxing all of my paperwork to them in November and emailing them in early December, I finally received my rebates today.

I don't have to wait for 6 weeks. I got my check on Xmas Eve!

I guess they wanted us to have a merry Xmas.:nod: The check was issued on 12/15/07, which means they were processing it even before I sent in my fax (12/18/07). Seems like they are catching up with the September mail-in ones. It's funny that if that address/office was closed, like I was told over the phone, how did they get to mail-in requests? Those mail would be undeliverable and returned to the senders but I never got mine returned. Judging by the fact that my check was indeed processed, that office was somehow still in operation, right? They should have got their story straight!

Anyway, I am happy I finally got my check after all the wait. It turned out to be an owesome deal for free coolers and earned cash! :)

I got 10, all rebates recieved. Bought them here and there ... Walgreens had 4 one day, CVS had 5 one day .. another CVS had one floating around that I found.

Ended up breaking even after the first 4 ... and make a tiny profit on them after the others. ... gave almost all the coolers away, no use for so many of them. lol

... the local Big Lots by me has three whole SHELVES of these things. The big Icebox ones as well as the big Drink ones with the spout. All of them have the F&S rebate sticker on them.

... all of them are listed at full MSRP :( ... bummer, or I'd have to back a truck up to their door to get all my FAR coolers.

With the reset of the seasonal aisle this week at CVS, the coolers that weren't clearanced out last fall have reappeared. The only moneymaker now is the Legend, the oversized-mug- with-handle cooler. It retails for around $9; with the $10 rebate, you'll make $1 per cooler.:yummy:

Look for the big black round stickers on the cooler to identify the models that qualify. Those models contain the mail-in rebate card. Enjoy.

True, I do have two of the forms still, though. I have been trying to find a deal on one that has the sticker, but no card, to be sure the UPC matches. I know it's kind of late, and I got in on this deal really good last year, but hey.....:lol:
