1-year free subscription to PC Magazine from Mercury Magazines: http://www.mercurymagazines.com/pr1/101/101118 (http://slickdeals.net/?sduid=161598&t=585609&u2=http://www.mercurymagazines.com/pr1/101/101118)

*** Note: This is a second new link, in addition to the one just posted by raymondshih (thanks, raymond :) ). ***

If you've already ordered the free year from FBM ( http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=161598&t=581720 ), but not from Mercury, this should work, too. The new subscription should be added to your existing one, but, if you happen to receive duplicate issues, just call the publisher to have them merged into one subscription.

This link is busted. The magazine icon pops up, but you can not select the check box to receive the magazine.

If the box on the second page is unclicked it does not mean the deal is dead. It means for some reason Mercury Magazines choses not to offer you that magazine. Possibly your profile does not fit what they are looking for.

I ran into the same problem.

And the funny thing is that I received the free subscription offer directly from Mercury.

Yes, that makes sense. In the past you wouldn't even get the magazine image when you hit the "select magazines" page.

Perhaps the grayed-out box is Mercury's way of telling you that they understand that you want it but you can't have it. ;)

In my case, it's the first time I've been sent a direct subscription offer from Mercury and the sign-up process didn't work. And I have received PC Magazine for free previously.

Well at least this is some small measure of relief for my mail carrier.

Are you sure it's an invoice from Mercury? There are shady magazine resellers that will send what looks to be an invoice but it's really just a subscription sign-up offer. And the rates are typically outrageous.

I have received those for PC Magazine and I treat them as junk mail..

I tried to use what spingod said to do, but on the bottom half of the form, there's 3 categories not two. I've tried a lot of different things and I still can't get it to work. Could anyone that has gotten the check box to appear not greyed out please list what they used?

Thanks!

On Aug 29, 2007 I received an email from Mercury Mags that said:
We have received your order for the following items:

PC Magazine

Please allow 4-8 weeks to begin receiving PC Magazine

As of today, I havent't received any mags. Anyone know how to contact Mercury?
