- Ask yourself: "Does someone who is checking this thread via dialup before going to CVS really need to know this information?" If not, put it in the Discussion thread!

- Other stuff like questions, scenarios, what you plan to buy, what you bought, how great the deals are, how bad the deals are, chat where you're getting to know other SD CVS'ers etc, should all go in the discussion thread for each week.

NEW: Too many pages in your CVS threads?
You can change your settings to show more posts per page, with the maximum being 40 posts per page. (This lets you scroll down more without having to keep hitting 'next page')

Go to “User CP”
Click on “Edit Options”
Scroll down until you see "Use this option to set the number of posts to show in a thread before splitting the display into multiple pages."
You'll see a drop down box where you can select the Number of Posts to Show Per Page.
If you make a change be sure to scroll down to the bottom and click on “Save Changes”

All I have to say is that I am a CVS JUNKIE. I go to bed thinking about CVS and when I wake up the first thing I do is check the CVS threads. In the past I was only buying the things that I needed/used. CVS, NOT ANYMORE! If I have a manufacture coupon and I can earn ECB’s I’m getting it. The way I see it someone in my family will need/use it.

I worked up a couple of different scenarios for the October/Current week deals. Let me know what you think. My goal is to get back as much ECB’s as possible.

As far as Manufacture coupons, I am using $ 2.50 off of Playtex, $ 2.00 off of Clossys Rinse and $ 1.50 off of Crest Prohealth. All of these coupons were found here in the Wiki, except for the Crest Prohealth which was in this past weeks P&G insert.

Welcome back -- last time we saw you, you were :eat: in the lounge. We all thought the person who took over your land kidnapped you. :whee:

On Saturday's, the ExtraCare department is open, but only to 3 PM. Do you know the phone number, name your using, and card number of the lost card?

If you know at least the phone number and name -- you will need to call CS first thing Monday morning and explain what happened (with the card being lost). Hopefully, they will be able to look up the card and see which ECB's you have not redeemed yet.

Those ECB's, then CS should be able to transfer them to a new card -- and they should be able to do a one time reset has a "courtesy".

Of course most of the CRT's on that card are probably lost...

At least you should have some new $2/10 off any purchase you can use. :nod:

:scratch: hmmm.. since the ECB's are linked to the card... there must be a way to get to the card number... Maybe try having the cashier try scanning the ecb and see if anything comes up on the system ?? or.. perhaps CS can use the barcode number to backtrack to the card ? :dontknow:

I have a word document that shows all my card numbers and identifying information on them. They do not all have a phone number associated with them. I once took a walk to cvs and was using my first card which has the little key chain card on my car keys. Since I was walking, I didn't bring it..... only the ecbs! Luckily I had the presence of mind to call my hubby and have him look up what phone number was associated with the card. Turns out there wasn't one, so I had him change the information on another card and put in our home phone number. I gave the phone number and it worked! I was able to use the ecbs without my card.

Hopefully you have SOME phone number associated with it. I guess you could explain you lost it and try this phone number or that one as a last resort. If you can't find the card, I guess retire it after you use up the ecbs...... that's what I would do.

Ok, so I had a helluva time tonight. I went and did two orders and got two Contour monitors since I got a couple coupons from the nice witch of the west. First order: wouldn't take any coupons above $3! Now, I will admit I had a gift card in this order (go ahead, flame away but I am at a loss as to what to get my 13 year old nephew for his bday on sunday). So we voided the gift card, same problem. Voided the $3 off $10 CVS brand scannable that I mentioned earlier same problem. Had to void the entire order and redo it and when she tried to scan the $3 off $10 it said already used, so she manually entered it.
Fast forward to 2nd order: same damn issue. I did not have a GC on this order so I thought it would be fine, nope it was the darn $3 off $10! But I didn't figure it out til she rang the whole thing and then none of my coupons would work (all said max value $3). So she rerang it, we didn't use the $3 off $10 and of course it was fine (which means I could have gotten the darn gift card, but oh well!).
So long story short: The $3 off $10 CVS brand scannable that's by the pharmacy should only be used with other coupons that are $3 or less in value otherwise they will not work! I have used this on smaller orders with smaller value coupons with no problems, so I know that's the issue.
And just a little FYI: It looks like CVS will now be carrying Bath and Body Works gift cards! That was exciting for me to see!
In all the confusion of giving coupons, getting them back, and giving them again, it turns out I used one $10 off $50 crt on both orders! I think it beeped but everything was beeping so she must have just pushed it through! So I still have one left to use this week!
And I thought I had lost a $5 off $25 crt, but I realized I used it! And I got another one even after the crt printer gave me a $10 off $50 this morning! I'm feeling pretty good even without the printables!

And finally :crying2: my favorite manager at my favorite store is gone! The cashier today had his picture taped to her shirt and I asked about it and she said today was his last day and he moved to a different store! He was awesome! The store where he is going is kind of on my way to pick up my kids, but pretty far away in general! :sadwalk:
So I asked about the new mgr and she said she doesn't know anything except that her name is Martha!

Ok, I know I said finally but this cashier (who is a shift supervisor) was asking me all kinds of questions about her ecbs. She said she got her quarterly one on her receipt and then printed it online and was able to use it both times. Then she said she's been getting a lot of $5 off $25 crt's and asked me (!) if she could use them all in one $25 transaction! I guess I'm hoping this new manager is as nice and coupon friendly as the other one.

When you have a $4 off $20 coupon code and ECBs does the order matter in which they are entered/scanned?

Normally I give the $4 off $20 first. Today the cashier told me that she would do this one after the others and asked for my ECBs. Than after scanning my ECBs she tried entering the code and after a few unsuccessful attempts told me that my order was not over $20 so she could not use it.

I had to convince her to void the transaction and start again. This time also she was unable to get the $4 off $20 by entering the coupon code and finally got a manager and then instead of entering the coupon code entered $4 off.

So does the order matter?

Thank you for the warning on the $3/10 CVS product. Will learn to use that last.

At least your former store manager will be somewhat in you area still. I still would be concerned though that the new manager might have a totally different procedure on taking coupons. Hope your CVS doesn't go to deathstar status because of this.

It is good though one of the SS is asking you about ECB's and how to use the coupons to the fullest. That is always a good sign. Just hope the new manager will allow things to run as they are, and not change things for the worse. Often, new management imposes their will far too often. :(

BTW, how is your son doing from earlier this week?

Actually, I got a 10/50 earlier on this week and today I scanned the same card and got TWO 10/50 printing out at the same time! Just for the analysis sake, I have to say that this card is my most recent card, about maybe 3-4 months old that never got any $$/$$ off but 3/10 CVS. Now it is my best card. My oldest card is not getting 10/50 cvs.com. My 8 months card are getting nothing! To think I was thinking of getting rid of my newest card:shake:

Just got back from CVS myself and I think the theory brought up by kristy4cvs above is true -- the card that is the newest and least used got all (3) $5 off $25 any purchase and all of my other cards go NOTHING but the usual you know what!. :ranting:

So the card with the lowest ECB's gets all of the $x/$xx CRT's. I guess having 1 card get all of the CRT's is better than none. :rolleye2:

There is an error in my post about the cards. My oldest card is now (instead of not) getting the 10/50 cvs.com. It has been dry for a while. So maybe after a while when the cards dry up they start getting something again. I should figure out how old that card is to work out some kind of a cycle. This last card took a while to get the $$/$$. I don't think my second and third cards took long at all.. But that was at a time when everything was so hot at CVS. Now which cards should I get rid of. This is too much work. DH says to spend it all:lol: I keep forgetting to look for that digital photo.

ahhh..just had a nice pampering session by cvs products. shaved, shaving gel, lamasilk for my feet, apricot scrub for my face and feet, lotion for my body. feels nice!

I went out for a walk.... to cvs of course. Got the following
1 stink bomb lumene
1 lady's speed stick
1 pledge duster kit
1 playtex sport

I SHOULD have gotten:
1 ECB lady speed stick
2 ECB stink bomb lumene
3 ECB playtex sport

I bought these exact things earlier in the day and got the ecbs so it is NOT me.

Not only didn't my receipt print ANY Ecbs, it didn't have any totals of what I bought. Shift supervisor claims that since I got them at EXACTLY 10:00 on the dot it was too late to get ecbs. I said....... lumene is month long and she said oh it is? Well it's too late. Call CS.

I KNOW CS will tell me that the store is supposed to handle this. I hate calling them.

But....... how come nothing printed on the bottom of my receipt for deal totals? They did scan my card. The card number is on the receipt. The colgate and crest I bought earlier in the week didn't show up at all. I got me a bad feeling about what is gonna happen to all of us buying stuff in the morning.

It looks like they switched the prices over to next week's ad early at the store you shopped. When that happens, none of the ECB's will print out as the computer is programmed to print ECB's only for next week. Many stores will change their prices Saturday Evenings -- if you just got back from CVS, this is what likely happened.

The reason for this is on Saturday Evenings -- they already have the signs up for next weeks ad -- so they end up activating next week's ad early so the signs are correct.

You can either go back to the store and get it corrected (don't know if asking them if they switched over the prices early is a good idea -- but if they said they did, that would be the reason you got No ECB's).

Or call CS and explain what happened -- I know you don't want to call CS, but you may have to if the store won't handle it. If you do need to call CS, you have to wait 48 for them to see the receipt. Once they see the receipt -- they will then clearly see you didn't get the ECB (as there will be no 9 digit code for that promotion linked to your card).

The 24 hour store near my house will switch prices at 11 PM on Saturday Night. My home store just lets the computer switch over by default at Midnight.

Well... I KNOW I didn't go over the limit. I keep track. I know I can call CS but I'm :eek: cuz I wanted to buy the stink bomb:bomb: one by one with a $2/$10 and $2 lumene and it didn't print my ecbs (monthly deal... it worked earlier in the day) and I know I am not going to want to whine about not getting $2 to the store every time when I am getting it for free in the first place. If the Angels were having any more games this year :mad: I'd go to the deathstar by St. Joe's and call CS from the store when they refused to do anything about the $10 ECB I was due for buying 5. Ok.............. I bought the crest and colgate previously and yes I got the ECBs, but it's not showing up on the receipt I JUST got (and I didn't get any ecbs for the playtex, lady speed stick, lumene). I also had one previously purchased lumene which is also not showing up. It looks like my receipt got cut off before all the totals printed out, but nothing else was printed out..... it's just plain not on my receipt. Right away I noticed no ecbs and the shift sup refused to do anything. THEN I noticed that the monthly deals were not even showing up that I had already started and I thought omg........ I have to do SOMETHING cuz I got some ecbs expiring on Tuesday and of course the deals are crummy anyway. I need to whittle my ecbs away anyway so more pizza I guess........ but my plan was one pizza, one lumene, one colgate or beano (and a tiny filler if they refuse to modify a coupon by a few cents) with a $2/10 coupon, $2 lumene, $6 ECBS, $1 manu. Not only didn't my receipt print ANY Ecbs, it didn't have any totals of what I bought. Shift supervisor claims that since I got them at EXACTLY 10:00 on the dot it was too late to get ecbs. I said....... lumene is month long and she said oh it is? Well it's too late. Call CS.

I KNOW CS will tell me that the store is supposed to handle this. I hate calling them.

But....... how come nothing printed on the bottom of my receipt for deal totals? They did scan my card. The card number is on the receipt. That happened to me once. Bf and I both did orders while the system was shut down for the changeover in early Sept. No ECBs printed, no totals, no ytd savings. Supervisor gave us moneycards.

I agree to email/call CS. After 48 hours they should see that you made the right purchases. You could also mention that you attempted to solve the problem in the store but the supervisor wanted nothing to do with fixing the problem.
Since we didn't have to call (that time) I don't know for sure that CS will be able to view your purchases since the system could have been shut down. Hopefully it won't be too much of a hassle.

When I went up to the SCO, the manager came up and stood to the right behind me less than a foot away, without saying a word. I scanned my items and put in a 2/10 coupon. When I scanned my ECB, it said credit and dinged for me to place the "item" in the bag (this happens w/CRT's, so I knew the drill), so I went ahead and dropped the ECB into the coupon slot. The manager proceeds to rifle through my bad and inspects everything suspiciously (like I slipped something in). Not wanting to be deterred, I continue to scan the energizer & crest Q's, with him at my neck the entire time. My mom called me at that moment, so as I talked to her, I paid my total ~$2 in cash and left.

It made me feel uneasy b/c he didn't say a word, just stood, stared, rifled, and stared again. One of the cashiers said to him "What are you doing?" He said he was being the store greeter, which was obviously a lie since I was at the SCO farthest from the door and there was already someone posted there to welcome customers.

It seemed like an attempt to bully me into not using coupons. It was humiliating. I don't think I want to step foot into that store again, but bf thinks I should just to rebel against what the guy is trying to do. I already have enough anxiety using coupons knowing that a lot of people look down on it. That is why I use SCO. Anyways, sorry for the long rant. Hope everyone has had better luck.

:OMG: I was just checking posts real quick before I ran out for some extra papers. These issues are freaking me out! :eek: I have 5 small orders ready to go and this makes me want to stay home and chill :eek: Some $/$$ coupons would be nice. I do better with the larger orders. Also heading to my deathstar store with a totally legit deal. oop should be $.70 which is average for me. The shift super should be there and she hates me.

When you have a $4 off $20 coupon code and ECBs does the order matter in which they are entered/scanned?

Normally I give the $4 off $20 first. Today the cashier told me that she would do this one after the others and asked for my ECBs. Than after scanning my ECBs she tried entering the code and after a few unsuccessful attempts told me that my order was not over $20 so she could not use it.

I had to convince her to void the transaction and start again. This time also she was unable to get the $4 off $20 by entering the coupon code and finally got a manager and then instead of entering the coupon code entered $4 off.

So does the order matter?

The order does matter especially if you barely have a $20 order. Always give the $/$$ first.

I think you should keep shopping there. Don't let him think that he can bully you out of the store. If you feel up to it you could invite him over to watch your transaction or just ask him if he needs something - call attention to his hovering. If you don't feel like doing that maybe your bf could go with you.

What made it worse--other than the loss--is that we had to get up at 6am to go do the Breast Cancer Walk...all for a good cause, though :)
It was a great game, at least until the top of the 11th, when the Sox pitching :blowup:

Sorry to hear about that. You aren't alone, I've had the exact same thing happen to me at the SCO. Except the shift sup actually stopped my transaction and decided to redo everything at the counter. I think something similiar happened to someone as well. I haven't been to that location often (cuz I don't live out there) but it seems that the like to guard their machines. Both times I had to wait for them to leave before I quickly did my transaction. As everyone said you should go back. Maybe next time you should wait for the "manager to the pharmacy please" page over the intercom.

If the experience was so frustrating that you're really thinking of avoiding that store then you probably should complain. No one should be treated that way and the next person he does it to may not be able to make it to other stores so if you don't make sure he knows he was wrong now it's you and other frugal shoppers who will suffer.

I would keep on shopping there with the BEST coupon deals I could find.
I have a grocery store near me that doubles coupons but will only let you have 1 free item per trip to the store, be it an outright FREE coupon or a double that makes it free. so yesterday I did my thing there (same shopping center as cvs) bought 8 itmes for $.09 each using coupons doubled on sale items(all different) and one free item ...oop .$72 for a $16.71 order ...cashier was a bit upset but I am "playing" within that stores' ground rules...I have actually restarted my normal shopping at the same store 10 miles away who is owned by different owners and have phenominal customer service...but I always do my "short" pain in the b*** orders here close to home just to "ANNOY"

Maybe Gagne is only good as a closer and now he is the set up man. He was doing ok in Texas. I've seen lots of games where closers come in when it's a non-close situation and made it "closer". :lmao:

Yeah, I agree, that's probably some of the issue. But I think the Dodgers did overuse him (and now I think they're using Martin too much) and that is probably still contributing to his issues.

He's still better than Drew. And sure, he's got some off-field issues, but clubs need to stop paying big money for him after every time he has a decent year (which doesn't seem to happen that much).

If someone messes it up completely all anyone has to do is click the revisions button and select the most recent complete version.

Ok, again dumb newbie question, why do man q's last? What order should we put everything in? I do $4/$20 first, then man q's, store coupons and then ECB's. Is this worng? Thanks again for helping me. I still don't get the whole repping thing but I don't have enough posts yet to do it.

Use whatever order you feel comfortable with. The way you're doing it isn't wrong.

mzmir is right, most of the time man. coupons can be used to pay your tax

If you use man. coupons last it's easier to get your OOP as low as possible.

When I started I did things in the same order you are now and I usually paid a couple dollars for each order. Once I got more comfortable with the deals I started holding out some of the man. coupons until the end, now my OOP is usually less than a dollar.
In case it helps, I usually keep about $10 in man. coupons until the end (or just a few dollars if it's a $20 order) - basically, I pick an even number I can remember that will cover the tax. Then I use my other coupons and ECBs to work my total down to as close as I can get to the amount of money I have left in coupons.

Depending on your state, ECBs and man. coupons may cover the tax that goes with them (for me this means that a $1 ECB or other CVS coupon is equal to $1.08 if I'm buying any taxable items). Just be aware that some of your coupons may reduce your total by a little more than their face value.

and yet another point - do not keep any coupons until the end that need a price entered (BOGO coupons or coupons that exceed the price of the item), sometimes these won't work for paying tax.

So it's complicated and may not be worthwhile. I've become comfortable doing it that way but lots of people don't. You should use your coupons and ECBs in whatever order you like. As long as you're saving lots of money you're not doing anything wrong.

I think there's a better guide in the FAQ thread, but I could be wrong.

Also, don't be afraid to ask questions. These deals get complicated and no matter how long we've been getting them, we all still have questions. :)

repping - look under the name of the person you want to rep. Look down to where it says Reputation: then a number and a little box. Click the little box and enter a message. The person won't get any points from it since you have less than 50 posts, but they will be able to see your message in their User CP or their profile page. The point value doesn't really matter.
