The Ad/Deal thread for this week is HERE (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=59052&t=630744)

There are two CVS threads for each weekly ad. So, how do you know what to put where?
- Anything that everyone needs to know should go in the Ad/Deals thread (prices, coupons, what worked that shouldn't have, what didn't work that should have). The Wiki post (always the 2nd post in a thread) is updated constantly by users just like you!

- Ask yourself: "Does someone who is checking this thread via dialup before going to CVS really need to know this information?" If not, put it in the Discussion thread!

- Other stuff like questions, scenarios, what you plan to buy, what you bought, how great the deals are, how bad the deals are, chat where you're getting to know other SD CVS'ers etc, should all go in the discussion thread for each week.

Keeping track of all the CVS threads:
Subscribe to the threads you want to keep track of. (See links below)

To subscribe to a thread when you're already in the thread:
- go to the top of the page
- click on Thread Tools on the upper right hand side
- click Subscribe to this thread

To see the threads you've subscribed to, click "User CP". It's at the top of every page on the left. Any of your subscribed threads that have new posts will show in the center of the page. You can also click “View all subscribed threads” to see all threads, whether they have new posts or not.

(You can also 'sticky' every CVS thread to the top (also under Thread Tools), so if you go into Hot Deals or Deal Talk or Coupons you see all CVS threads at the top of the page.)

NEW: Too many pages in your CVS threads?
You can change your settings to show more posts per page, with the maximum being 40 posts per page. (This lets you scroll down more without having to keep hitting 'next page')

Go to “User CP”
Click on “Edit Options”
Scroll down until you see "Use this option to set the number of posts to show in a thread before splitting the display into multiple pages."
You'll see a drop down box where you can select the Number of Posts to Show Per Page.
If you make a change be sure to scroll down to the bottom and click on “Save Changes”

There were $1 off mfc's in the 'senior book' that came out last spring / early summer for mylanta liquid. finally a decent week for recycling some ecb's. still nothing i can actually use though, but i guess that is mostly because i am already stockpiled on anything i can actually use.

I'm more excited than ever about this week! My best friend's baby (20 mos) has been having problems with her blood sugar, and no docs, hospital has figured out why yet (ranging from 17-250), so now she has to test her 6-10 times a day! I finally have a reason for the monitors, and now I can ship a whole carton! I even have a couple of the ones she's currently using, but she said any will do, as long as they're good for kids. Yea!

So what is the cheapest item I can get to get the $10 ECB for the $19.99 Prilosec OTC?
 Do you mean in addition to the Prilosec to reach $20.00?? If so last time they had this deal they made it so the ECB would print for 19.99. Not sure if this deal will act the same way. Also some people have luck in calling CS if the ECB doesn't print. It's YMMV but your rep may issue the buck anyway since you are so close. HTH

Not sure if I am posting this in the right place, but I used a GC prescription coupon earlier today. The coupon wouldn't go thru, said something like not associated with card entered. The cashier ended up just entering it as a competitor's coupon. Are these prescription coupons linked to specific cards? Thanks!

Some are meant to be used only one time - they are sent out by CVS corporate. When someone posts these, most everyone who tries them has problems. But I doubt the original poster intends for you to have problems, they were only trying to help.

I would steer away from any coupons that appear to be scans - and not copies of emails - that are posted in the CVS coupon thread - especially the prescription ones.

Just a suggestion that is kind of YMMV but if you have the $2 off 5 bars coupon you may also be able to use it by buying 5 bars instead of 4. You won't get any additional ECB's but it would take $1 off your total.

Note on the SoyJoy bars:

Some stores were clearancing SoyJoy a few weeks back and I noticed that 2 of my usual CVS stores are very low at stock. Do the 4 for $4 ECBs early in the week! Also, look for SoyJoy in freestanding displays. There was a cardboard display kinda near the pharmacy in the 3rd store that I visited that had a display with all four flavors fully stocked.

PS I think I am one of the few on the CVS thread who actually likes SoyJoy bars! I eat them breakfast and think they're kinda tasty.

I am new at this so pardon the question - the CVS ad for the Nova Max says "no discounts apply" - anyone know if that would mean they won't take the $50 off coupon? - even with changing it to $29.99? or is it a YMMV ? TIA

You are correct, so this is a YMMV because the coupon is a CVS coupon (and probably has some additional restrictions on them) and not a manufacturer's coupon.

I think the coupon will beep -- some stores might just push them through -- others will :ranting: and give you nothing!

This is similar to those meter coupons from the previous heartbeat book. In fact some employees out here got into trouble for abusing those under the old register system. :(

Since you all are looking at the SoyJoy deal, in order to maximize the deal just a suggestion but there are CRT's for either b2 get 1 or b3 get 1 free. Now mix that with the Man Q thats out now and you'd be able to nicely profit on this deal.

I'm still wondering about the Nova deal on this but thats going to be one hefty ECB when I've got to go and cash that. It says Limit 5 so I'm sure we are all going to be racing to CVS on Sunday Morning to get the Max on the deal. So what I'm wondering is if they'll adjust the Q to the value or not on this.

CVS does it again with these HUGE ecb amts and then its so ewww to break the huge ECB amts. How about a nice reclinging chair with that ecb amt/??

Where's the NOVA coupon? I must have missed this one!

It's in a new coupon book some CVSs have, it's called Managing and Preventing Diabetes. Take a look around the front of the store and the pharmacy and you may find them.

I haven't seen the socal ad for this week and they are tough to find around here Sat night and Sun morning so maybe I'll be able to use the coupon regardless of the "no additional discounts" statement.

I'd really like to use the coupon to get one free and work it into a deal with one of the digital picture frames. At least then I'd be working my ECBs down a bit but not by such a large amount. :please:

FYI, the Nova coupon is going to be a troublemaker:eek: It beeps (I assumed because of the amount and the problem that it has to be adjusted for the 29.99) but then it says "item not sold." It finally had to be entered as a CVS coupon. It will be very hard to fly under the radar with this gem.:shake:

Try taylortown (http://taylortownpreview.com/index.htm), they have a list of inserts for each week and on Wed. they add what the coupons will be for the upcoming weekend (the list is regional, so there can be differences in what they list and what you get). This week should only have SS.
edit: I'm sorry I answered this but I'm leaving it up in case anyone else is wondering. In the future, please ask your question in only one thread, if you feel like it's being ignored try to wait more than 2 minutes to ask it again. There are a lot of people who could answer this question and most other questions, someone will always help when they can.

Nope, it's a different recall, on ADULT products, I saw it as I was leaving tonight. I didn't get the details though, but it had something to do with the measuring cup and/or the cap.

I did a late night/early morning deal

and the stinkiest girl in the world award goes to...

$11.96 Beano x4 (finally found some!)
$32.80 Lady Speed Stick x10
$17.98 Eucerin x2 (I was already over $20 for that deal)
$5 Reeses x2
$29.99 Nova

total was over $100

I only used 15/75 and 2/10  , $19 in ECBs, 2 $1 Speed Stick CRTs, 10 $1 Speed Stick coupons (only expired by a few hours), 4 $1 beano coupons, 2 $2 Nivea coupons, $1 Reeses coupon, $29.99 Nova coupon.
edit: Subtotal = -.66, OOP = .44 (oddly enough, that is exactly the same subtotal and OOP as my previous trip)
ECBs received: $12 Eucerin, $20 Nova, $1 Reeses, and $11.96 Beano
Since I used those $19, I only have to use my last 2 $24 ECBs before the end of the month. That still seems like a lot. :headbang:

Nova coupon beeped for bf, not sure why but the cashier (a supervisor) got it in somehow and knew immediately what to do on my order.

Most CVS deals are female-centric but the majority of the deodorant ones seem to be for men and I have 8 females (plus me) to buy for so that's my excuse for the crazy deodorant purchase. I may buy more tomorrow :greedy:

Hopefully I can get in one or two orders to use up the $48 in ECBs before the $/$$s expire.
I assume the Nova deal is Nov. deal so I'll try not to max it out too fast. I don't like having so much in ECBs expiring all at once but it's better than not having those ECBs. :whee:

Miranda,

Congrats on the nice trip out.

So I'm here watching msnbc and they were trying to predict the Christmas Shopping and they're saying that we are going to have the worst Christmas shopping season in 20 years so here's to hoping that everything drops in price and start stocking more and more up for Christmas presents as the guy said that we are in the worst economic situations now since everyone that got 0 down and on the I/O programs are having balloon payments or basically the payments are going up.

Looks like online shopping will be the way to go this Christmas or like most CVS SDers I'm sure most of us will have a nice pile of stuff to give everyone at Christmas if they don't mind soap, deo, shavers, poos, toothpaste LMAO

Miranda,

Congrats on the nice trip out.

Thanks!
I ventured into your territory (the big store). I wish they had pumpkins, but I guess even the huge CVSs can't sell everything.

Bad shopping season for retailers should mean more coupons for us. :please: :greedy:

CVS does have some cute toys. I've picked out one likely gift for bf's nephew. I'll have to come up with a few more things before his birthday. Then more things before Christmas. If we get more $/$$ coupons I could see most of the people on my short good gift list getting those digital frames. But I don't have to worry about buying for many people, so I have it pretty easy.

I am mad today because there was no cvs ad in my paper!! So I am trying to read it on cvs.com, but it is still different from having the ad in my hand.

yeah i didn't have one either but it showed up a day later. i was really annoyed but went on sd to find the ad. it wasn't the same but i ended up doing pretty well. i did have to look a couple of times because there weren't any pictures!

the oct monthly deals end saturday, and the november monthly deals start today.

are you sure? oct monthly deals started on 10/1. i didn't hear anything about it starting on the begninng of the week and people getting ecbs. i thought they changed it to the actual day rather than the week.

also there were no november monthly books for my store. only had october.

So are the October deals dead now? I haven't gone to CVS in  2 weeks!!! I just let all my ECBs expire because my CVS takes any expired ones. I didn't even get my Beano or Crest!

ohh..you are so lucky your CVS takes expired ECB  ....mine dont take any expired coupon...

And I had problem returning the lamp I bought from the CVS a week ago....after ECB I had paid only .75 cents and they said thats what computer is allowing them to return...i was like what the heck ..they even showed the screen...so I cancel my return...no way I am going take .75 cents for the lamp when I paid 9.99.
then I went to another CVS ...didnt take receipt with me this time...at first the lady said it was discontinued..and they dont take return..i had to go to the CVS I bought it from...

later when i was shopiing...that lady came back and said that she was mistaken..it was not discontinued...they did the return at amount I had paid.:whee:

If you are just wanting to get SoyJoy and nothing else, you could do the below deal. Let me know if you are planning on getting anything else and what coupons you have.

$4 EBs wyb (4) SoyJoy Bars (limit 1)
*$4/4

$4 ~ 4 SoyJoy Bars @ $1 each
- $2 ~ 2, $1/1 soy joy MF Q
- $1 (may be more if they take off the retail shelf price) ~ Buy 2 get one free MF Q
- $1 (may be more if they take off the retail shelf price) ~ BOGO CVS CRT nutrition or health bar
---------
$0.00 OOP, not sure if tax would be charged or not; Earn $4 ECB's!

Now, if they give you the retail shelf price for those two free cpns, then you will need to find something to offset the overage. I'd probably throw in a cheap filler though to be safe. Since they changed the system, I haven't figured out how the registers handle tax when you use CVS coupons/ECB's.

ok thanks - that's great. i'll probably throw it into a bigger order, depending on what i can find today.......planning on doing orders on the fly.....which reminds me, need to print some 4/20s.......i find the bigger orders so stressful, add it all up, take off the Q's, and the $/$$ offs........i get my pants in a major twist.........

i also haven't figured out how the registers handle tax etc etc.....i don't think i ever did........

thanks again and will rep again when i can!

You're best bet is to use 2 of $1 MFT and then the B1G1 CVS CRT. Then you will pay $1 OOP to get $4 ECB's. You can try other combos, but then you are at the cashier's mercy.

I had the most awesome trip today! Got everything that was a decent ecb deal--tums, maalox, rembrandt, Nova Max, etc. Oh, and got the 10 ct sleep md. Was $4.99 and got back the $5 ecb. I ended up shelling out $30 in ecb (got lots of stuff w/o ecb return for DH) and getting back $64. Good trip! Can't wait to do another Nova Max deal, if there are any left after today! I'm only doing one more trip this week, unless it's for milk, eggs, etc. Figure I'll spread out the Nova Max deals over the month so I don't have a cluster of $20 ecbs.

ok guys. here was my scenario i did this morning. Its the best I could come up with for this week.

5 Soy Joy * 1
2 Scope White Mouthwash * 3.50
2 Crest with scope toothpaste * 3.50
2 BenGay Cream * 5.99
1 Sleep MD * 4.99
2 Tums Smoothie * 4.79
2 Mylanta Ultimate strength * 7.29
1 Renu Multipurpose solution * 8.49
1 Covergirl Lashblast mascara * 8.49
1 Tums travel pack (hubby had to have it) * 1.75
2 Tylenol Travel packs (filler) * .99

Total = $78.84

-15/75
-10/50
-10/50
-5/30
-4/20
-2/10
-1 soyjoy
-1 soyjoy
-1 soyjoy
-3 mylanta
-3 mylanta
-1 tums
-1 toothpaste
-1 toothpaste
-1 mouthwash
-1 mouthwash
-1 tylenol
-1 tylenol
-2.50 renu
-1 covergirl
-14 ECB's (miscalculated some stuff and should'n't have had filler)

OOP = 1.34

ECB's earned = 32

I will probably wait until Thursday to do the Nov. Deals, since I've already maxed on the decent deals for this week.

Hope this helps some!

also, i asked another pharmacist today about the diabetes books, and she said they put them out a month ago and they were gone fast! im hoping she was thinking of another book.

I'm not sure if they will still generate ecbs or not but you can add a small filler, use a $4/$20 coupon, a $3/$10 cvs brand coupon. That brings them down to 13 and they were spitting out $5 ecbs last night.

If someone wants to stare down then say that I need this ecb to pay for the next transaction or you want to maximize the Money off Qs that we have and if I only need 20 and I want to do a 40 dollar order I'm going to get 20 and then go around to get other 20 to benefit. Also with the gas prices soaring up then they ought to understand you don't want to turn the engine on then off get out of car turn on and then off and go back home which is equivalent to $1 to start the engine each time so just rather get as many deals in one place as possible. No harm no foul on that part.

The only thing that could make this Nova Max deal any greater, is if I didnt have to buy one at a time.:) Combined with a 10 off 50, I'm running out of things to use as fillers. Bought 5 sets of soyjoys and the eyecare stuff along with 5 Novas, on 5 diff cards. If I'm able to find enough Novas the rest of the week, I have no idea what I'll do with all the $20 ecbs. To make things worse, we leave for our winter vacation in 3 weeks, so all of them need to be used by then. The stress of having free money to spend.
The Novas are probably gonna be near impossible to find in a day or two.

Well, where I live you either drive or else. You really don't have a choice!! My nearest CVS is 2 miles away -- but don't even think about walking there!!

There might be a few that can afford to walk to their CVS because they actually live in the city itself. I had always thought you were closer to GarnierMoney -- but it sounds like you live in NYC itself. :dontknow:

The bus system here is also pathetic -- not to mention it would take like 1 mile just to get to the main street to get to the bus stop.

Don't worry about the funny face -- I do many orders at the same store sometimes. Even if it is only a couple of miles, it is a hassle, and yes my gasoline bill is gone up quite a bit from before CVS (still the extra price doesn't even come close how much I am saving on other items).

Even if it is only a couple of miles, it is a hassle, and yes my gasoline bill is gone up quite a bit from before CVS (still the extra price doesn't even come close how much I am saving on other items).
yeah i live in ny. the bus system is pretty bad then ok. it's supposed to be every 15 mins but sometimes longer. it really sucks when it's really hot or really cold or just good weather and just waiting

do you go to the same cashier? the last one i went to got annoyed because i used too many coupons. that's why i left because this one always gives me problems. other ones wouldn't.

yeah i live near nyc but work in manhattan (or the city as some people call it). gmoney lives at the border of upstate (i think). so we're far but we're not. it's still a bus stop away!

bus is terrible. ALWAYS full since I live in a city where most people would rather take the bus (gas is $$$$$)

it's ok. :) i do multiple rounds so it's still a maker!! :woot2:

yeah i bought 4 boost, 3 listerine, 2 crest and some other stuff. i had to put 3 boosts, 1 listerine and 1 crest in my backpack and carried the rest. my mom laughed at me. then i showed her the receipt

Went to 8 CVS's today and 3 Targets...I am worn out.

Found the Monitors at all the CVS's and made out like a bandit with ECB's :woot: :woot: To top it off, I also got reg and color ink for my printer, along with paper and envelopes. I plan on doing one more run tonight for some formula.

I had one store today where my daughter was being loud and demanding my attention. While I was catering to her, the cashier finished up my coupons and grabs my stack of ECB's and CRT's...I turn around and she has started scanning through the pile:eek: With manager watching..she proceeds to scan my CRTS..not ECB's:lol: Lo and behold, I got $15 off my order with CRT's that were not for items I bought...(and this is as they proceed to riffle through my ECB's for any that would lower the $0.76 left on my order)... :shake:

1. Will probably be zero in stock at my local stores. Too many smart shoppers in my area. ;)
Your talking about an area where people will line up at Best Buy the Wednesday Night before Thanksgiving to get the Black Friday doorbusters. Compare that to say South County, where there was NO line at Best Buy as of 1 PM Thanksgiving last year.

2. My CVS stores do not understand the concept of the booklets with coupons -- so good luck finding any around here. :(

So either way, I am probably won't be participating in this deal -- not to mention too many deathstar stores -- even my home store had an incident with those meter coupons earlier and won't price adjust those now.

stinkymonkey,

I am assuming you don't do too much CVS during your work time -- since I heard the stores in Manhattan have lousy deals and only get the 4 page circular that is special for that area. Is this true?

My CVS near my work is a certified deathstar -- and about to implode -- and the prices are 20% higher than all other CVS stores on average.

I went to CVS today the last day for $120ECB on one slip and was going to buy almost everything without coupons accept one $15 off $75. The $120 in ECB came from buying nicorette gum. The manager said they got an email from corporate saying the $120 in ECB was a mistake with coupons or whatever and they had a problem with fraud or something. I did nothing wrong and she said that my card is no good and would not take the sale. I was told I have to call corporate etc. I used 5 nicorrette coupons on that deal and bought 10 packs not one on every pack like some people. This is crazy. Again today is the last day on the ECB. Corporate is closed today and my card on the automated system appears fine. This is the same manager that shut me down in my earlier post. I think my days of CVS deals are at an end. I think I have become a target by CVS manager/s although I have never used a copied coupon in my life. All legit different numbers etc.

What I wan't to know is if anyone else is or has gotten this type of treatment and how it worked out after calling corporate. I especially want to to know if anyone had problems using ECB from nicorette deal a few months ago.

I don't think people had any problem because they were limit 2 per person (drug thingy.. could only buy 2 at a time...) so their EB is $24...

are you saying you did it in ONE SHOT?????

Yes, one shot and they where not limited to 2 per person hence $120ECB and I wasn't the only one to get that much on one receipt as I saw others post it during the deal. I wasn't trying to max out the potential of the deal like some with 2 at a time etc. She said my card is void or no good whatever so trying at another store is likely to be another embarasing episode.

did the people who got into the nova deal use the coupon from the diabetes book from the pharmacy? i would get into it but would feel weird using the coupon especially since it says on the circular that cvs won't (i say shouldn't, cvs is ymmv) accept.

no id on't cvs during work. gmoney did tell me that she went to a cvs on 2nd ave and the ecbs did print out. but i don't want to risk it. and yes the circulars are 4 pages... much different from my 20 pages. i don't understand why that happens. my sister worked at eckerd and she said in manhattan they don't have sales but because it's in the computer it'll still ring up a sale. and they don't accept coupons where she worked. i know the cvs near my work accepts coupons. i have 2 near my work but the stores are so small compared to mine (of course horrible rent) and it's just sad to walk around when i have to bring it in the subway to go back home. so the best is to go home and shop.

I agree littlestix. I get excited when I look at the oop on these posts but then when I look at all that stacking I just can't do it!

Stacking isn't really what leads to low OOP. That usually comes from paying with man. coupons last. You can pay with a lot of ECBs and still have a low total at the end.
Sorry so many of you guys don't get to stack. :(

Can anyone confirm that this is monthly b/c I've read that, and I didn't see it in Nov and I don't want to have to try to find 15 of them this week (3 cards) but I definitely want to do this deal the max amnt. of times.

They don't put all the monthly deals in the booklets. This deal is limit 5 and shows up during other Nov weeks so it probably a month long deal. If it isn't then we have a chance to buy at least 10 of them.

Nearest CVS are 0.7 & 2.1 miles

same here. Although it's several miles to my closest CVS and that one is a deathstar. I just drive and go to several. I've never done 2 transactions in a row before (at CVS). I was behind one woman in line last night who did 3 at once, she must not be an SDer because she didn't let anyone in the long line go in between her transactions. I usually go to the grocery store and CVS and sometimes Target all in one trip so I can pass a few CVSs on the way without much hassle.

My stores have 4 novas left in each... tons of booklets in each!

I got one deal done at each store today. The tylonal coupons are starting to give me trouble. (only 2 stores in the town)

I will maybe do some more nova deals tomarrow... if I can break away at lunch. Should I have a problem with this because the bookletts say one per person?... There are only so many managers in these small towns to price adjust those coupons.... Do you think they will refuse my deal the next time?

How did you work the Nova deal? Did you find the coupons?

fyi.. i bought the sugar free tums ex that is supposed to generate the $2 ecb. it did not print. instead, on my receipt it counted towards the $20 stomach meds deal, of which i did not buy any. i have to call customer service to get it corrected.

That happened to me too today. I even checked their ad to ensure we got the right one. When checking the receipt later I noticed I didn't get the $2 EB and instead it counted towards the $20 deal. I looked at the bottle and we bought the "Tums EX 750 -- 96 tablets" for $4.99 as we thought it looked the same as the picture.

I now realize they are NOT sugar freee or 80 ct...

Also, The Visine didn't pay out either. It looked just like the one depicted (Advanced Relief) but it rang at $7.xx and didn't give the EB...

Anyone else having trouble with the Nova Max coupon? They beeped each time I used them, even after adjusting the price to $29.99. Thankfully, the mgr just told the clerk to enter a mfr cpn for $29.99.

The first store I tried to use them for liquid pain reliever at $7 ea... it beeped. Manager had to push them through... They said it was only for the pills, but we rang up some pills and they also beeped.

Second store I tried the liquid again. Beeped again. They refused to push them through so we took those off and I got to pills... one went through and one beeped... so the manager pushed the second one through.

The manager in the first store was refusing to price adjust the nova coupon. She called her boss and he told her to do the price adjustment... almost didn't get it to fly in that store.

I have no cortaid coupons for the anti itch cream. Has anyone used the $2 ip coupon for the poision ivy cloths on the cream? If so did it scan or beep at the register?

Cortaid coupons tend to work on any cortaid product - at least they have for me in the past.

Hmm, I just came back from CVS and the CVS soap did not generate ecb's for me today. I had three more packs to get. The first two last week did generate ECB's.

Same here. CVS soap, CVS body wash and Nuprin cream - none gave ecbs. I needed them as fillers, but don't want the soap and body wash without the ecbs. The Nuprin, I'll keep no matter what.

Darn, I haven't had to call corporate in a long time.

The Novas are probably gonna be near impossible to find in a day or two.

As of 4pm here, they're gone. None to be found so far. Congrats to those of you who have scored so far on this deal.

Question.. does the B3G1 nutrition bars CRT beep? for them to enter the price or do you get an overage of 0.99???

thats awsome! I spent $1.90 OOP and saved $115.xx today! yay!!!

made $20 bux. this week is awsome!!!!!!! LOL ps~ thats only one Max bought and one transaction, more to come! :) swwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

wait, I made over $45.00 bux :) I'm bad at math haha~

OK I was watching tv and typing.Basically, if you have time to hit CVS 10 times this week, with two diff cards you can make at least $200! This is as far as I can visualize since it is Halloween week and no preschool Tuesday....

This Nova Max rocks. I am drving out tomorrow to the store that used to give me the $50 overage on the heartbeat books tomorrow and will kup. If so that will be awsome. If you ask them to scan the Nova Max before your CVS card you can use the $50.00 and get $20 overage and a $20 EB,,, recycle rinse repeat :)

They will reprice the Q for $29.99 UNLESS you scan the Max before you scan your extra care card. It is very ymmv, which is why I'm driving out 30 minutes tomorrow to the store that honors the scan first ask questions later store tomorrow.

as for policy, CS will tell you it is managers discretion.

Also, anyone else have trouble finding the FAECB eye drops? I looked all over in my eye care section but didn't see any with that name, or even a spot for them.

MY CVS on the East Coast sells the entertainment books.

they dont sell Juicy Juice though....

Good idea about the books. I'll have to check into that.

Congrats on the great haul!

Oddly enough, on the new system I've been given the regular price instead of the sale price on items with BOGO coupons a couple times when I scanned my card first.

I hope I find a couple more Novas tonight. :please: I wonder if they are a monthly deal since the other monthly deals don't seem to have started up yet. CVS can be so confusing.

I just got home from making a quick run to CVS. The first thing I did was grab some more diabetes booklets. Then swing by to see if they had any Nova monitors (we should call them Super Nova's!). They had 3...woohoo! So as I start to put them in my cart, I hear the chiming of the price gun go off. I go around the corner to see if it's the assistant manager. It is! He is always nice to me and very helpful. So I tell him about the deal with the monitors and free after ECB's eye drops. I go to check-out and we tell the cashier on duty about the deal. I had enough $5/$30 coupons to share too. They were both excited and very glad that I shared this with them. I was more than glad to do this as they both are great about me and my stack of coupons. :)

Hi all. I know this is OT but since we all love free stuff, here's a way to get free Rold Gold pretzels and BC fruit rollups if you have a Stop & Shop near you http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=82076&t=641537

Thanks I'll have to share that with my friend that lives up there.

What a wonderful story! There were no eye drops at my store (just an empty spot on the shelf) and no diabetes books, therefore I didn't even look for the monitors.

I think someone else has "invaded" my store because I NEVER used to have problems finding ECB items in stock--even when I went late in the week. Lately I can't find ANYTHING I'm looking for :(

Well at least I found the diabetes book at my home store! I was shocked, because they never have any booklets in stock! :)

Didn't check to see if they had any Novas in there, due to previous problems involving this type of coupon at that store, will not even attempt to try it there.

However, did go down the street to another CVS -- and of course they wouldn't accept the coupon for the Nova at all. It figures. :ranting:

I am envious of all of you who are able to use this coupon and even get overage for it!!

Wait, that would be :sadwalk: for me.

Why does OC have to have nothing but deathstar CVS stores? :(

Oh wait, that is more :( news -- will not discuss here -- This last one could be a death blow to my CVS runs.

Note: It has nothing due to do with my orders nor what happened this weekend nor this message board nor any personal issues. Let us just say the store employees are very :( about the news also.

Can someone help me figure out how to get the lowest OOP pocket? I have been working out good deals but I'm not :bulb: enough to figure out how to use my manu coupons to pay some of my tax. What I'd like to do is
2 Nova maxes (IF I can find them!)
2 Colgates
4 Mylantas
4 Soyjoy
1 baby bottle pop

I plan to use
The Nova Max coups
2 .75 Colgate manu
2 $1.50 Colgate CVS
4 $3 manu Mylanta
4 $1 CVS mylanta
4 $1 soyjoy
$15 off $75 printable

Possible fillers
$2.99 carpet frsh (no coupons)
foil
sleep md
eyedrops
halloween candy

I'm not firm on the email coupons but I do have them all to use. The EB's I have are all either 15s 10s 20s and 6s and tax is 6.5. What is my best deal????

First of all try to use other ECBS on the same card if they work then your card is still active and the problem is the big $ amount in $120 ECB.

If u scan the card and it is not being accepted try your phone number some times that works.

 good luck

If u want to buy 2 nova's u will end up getting $40 in ECBs which require the manager's approval .
2 of the colgate cvs coupons will not work. I could use only one.
Whenever u r shopping make the list (which u already did) then calculate the price then subtract the coupons.
Always ask the cashier to hit the total button and ask her subtotal (amount before tax) that is the ECB's u should give.
If u have Mfc coupons then subtact from the total and give ECBS for that subtracted amount and then give Mfc coupons as they reduce tax amount.

That sounds right about the hitting total so you know how much to work down from. Also the filler I think will be nice is the $1 off Johnsons Surgery Kit coupon in the Diabetes book. It does NOT exclude the trial size. That will push you over a dollar. Another filler to get to your amt is the Triscuits/Nabisco cookies this week which also have a man Q and a CVS diabetes Q. And you might also say what kind of CRTs you have so you can balance out and make something from them as well.

You won't be able to use the two Nova coupons together in the same order. Even if they were working properly, the second would beep (one per customer). But since they don't "work" right, they have to be forced as CVS coupons. In the past, they could only force one CVS coupon per order. I don't know if that changed with the register changes or not.

Treyjaylee - the way I do it is to keep $10 in man. coupons (the amount varies sometimes) until the end and try to work my way down to $10. I try to get as close as I can without going under using all my other coupons and ECBs. Then I hand over the last man. coupons.
If your state allows store coupons to pay down tax then remember that your ECBs will usually be worth more than their face value. Example: if I have a taxable item, my $1 ECB is worth $1.08. HTH

I was :whee: tonight. I'm still a bit :whee:

I got turned down for the Nova coupon once and bf got turned down twice. :( The second store was really stupid about it.

Anyway, in case it helps or just so I can show off (no one here cares but me):

Trip 1: I had 20 minutes before close to get this figured out. I did find the white 2/10s.
$29.99 Nova
$23.92 Speed Stick x8 (just call me speedstickmoney??)
$7.96 Stick lotion x4 (I'm getting paranoid about getting the Oct deals done)
$2.99 Beano
$3.49 J&J Tape (it's not in my ad but I saw a sign for it so I decided to try it, it worked)
$3.99 Bodi heat
$5.49 Sugar Free Tums (I matched them to sign but they didn't count)
$26.97 Eucerin x3
$7.49 clearance condoms

total was $121.xx
minus: 15/75, 10/50, 2/10, $24 ECB, $8 Lumene (beeped but he put them through), $6 Nivea ..sometime around here he took the Nova coupon, the total was $45.xx. I told him it was only $29.99 but he put it in at $50. I told him again, he didn't care. Ok. So now it's -$5. I asked him what to do about the other coupons - he wanted to keep on scanning. Once it got -$12.58 I still had about $10 in coupons left so I asked if I could go grab something bf was admiring earlier (I could hear him arguing with a different cashier - she wouldn't take the Nova coupon). So I got him a $29.99 gift. Other coupons were: $8 speed stick, $1 beano, $1.50 Bodi heat, $1 Johnson's (CVS), $1 Tums (CVS), $1 Tums.
I threw in a $5 ECB (it let me use an ECB to get a negative subtotal again).
Subtotal= -5.18, OOP= .70

ECBs received: $12 Eucerin, $2.99 Beano, $8 stink lotion, $20 Nova, $1 J&J, $1 Bodi Heat

If you need a good gift for a guy, try this (http://img141.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mrbeerlq0.jpg) (I took a picture of the back too because I thought it was funny). Of course mine saw me buy it so it's already his but he wants to buy more for gifts. I've only seen it in one store. It was $29.99.

I had a little conversation with the cashier, he told me he liked the coupons because otherwise his job is pretty boring.

store 2
They said they couldn't adjust the Nova coupon so I tried buying two like they suggested but then they wouldn't take one coupon that way either. The scanning gun broke so they did adjust my last man. coupon because without the scanner I couldn't go negative for the subtotal. :headbang: They couldn't give me a decent explanation for any of it, I think they were all pretty confused and just trying to sound like they understood.

.70 Odwalla bars -clearance- (not expired, I did check)
$2.40 various Kiss my Face x24 -clearance- (there were still a lot left, I swear!)
.40 bandage roll x4
.75 Dictionaries x3 -clearance-
$4 Soy Joy x4
$4.99 Rohto
$4.99 Sleep MD
$12.98 Nature Made Rx
$3.49 J&J tape (not in my ad so and this store had no signs so I forgot it was limit 1)
$17.98 Eucerin x2
$8.99 Schick
$2.99 gingerbread men
$19.98 Glade flameless candle x2

I think the total was around $90 because it was about $150 before the two Novas were voided

minus
15/75, 10/50, 10/50 (I wasn't going to stack that much but they were annoying me), last $24 ECB, $9.99 Glade BOGO, $4 Nivea, $2 Schick, $1.99 Soy Joy CRT ( ), $2 Soy Joy man. coupons, $1 J&J CVS, $2 Nature Made CRT, $4.26 adjusted Nature Made coupon
subtotal= 0, OOP = $1.26 :sadwalk:
Apparently the system didn't catch up in the almost 2 hours between orders, so two of those ECBs will probably beep like my $24 one did. Darn. But I did get the J&J one again.
ECBs received: $12 Eucerin, $5 Nature Made, $4.99 Rohto, $1 J&J, $4 Soy Joy, $4 Schick, $5 Sleep MD

So that was all pretty crazy. I was trying to work my way down to a lower ECB total but this really messed up my progress. At least I don't have any expiring until 11/12.

CRTs were lame and I only got one set (but I got them twice):
$2 off any Nature Made
.75 off J&J Reach Dental Floss
$ off Large size Tampax Pearl
I got the 3/10 and $1 off cookies on one group only

I'm pretty happy about the Mr. Beer. Bf just wants to try using what it comes with first. I want to get creative. :evillaf:

awesome deals! but i thought the nature made was a weekly deal from last week?

Thanks. Someone, I think slayers, said that it was a secret monthly deal. That seems to be right since I bought my 5th one tonight, got the ECB, and it now says offer limit reached. So if you get a Nature Made CRT and have more of the $5 coupons, these work out pretty well. :)
