I'm wearing shorts and have barefeet, too!!! The weather has been BEAUTIFUL here---we've had the windows open for days!!! I was hoping to be "cold" this weekend (going to the mtns) and get to bundle up in sweaters and stuff, but it's not going to be that cool. Tomorrow & Sunday it'll be 75 during the day with lows in the high 40's and Monday it'll be in the 60's for the high--just in time to go home :(

Oh well---I'm looking forward to going to my parents' place this winter!! YEAH!! Seasons!! Woo hoo!!!

Sweet and great idea on the new thread!! I think this was the original purpose of the old chat thread. I remember a while back we even tried to start a chat thread in the Lounge but the Loungers were not happy about that. Its a good idea to reserve a place we can all still communicate.

As for us we stayed home all day! Its pouring rain and we had no power for 4 hours. It was fun reading books by candlelight to the kids. :)

Of course the power is back and they suddenly needed CARTOONS!!!

i like this thread! it made me :( yesterday when some of the ot posts got deleted b/c i like the chat.

right now i'm a law student (who really should be doing more schoolwork!) and i graduate this year :( its kinda up in the air what i'll do after, depending on where we move when i graduate. i don't really want to be a lawyer though. so in an ideal world, i'll work for 2 years (probably as a lawyer even though i don't want to!), pay off all of my loans and then get to be a stay at home mom (which is about all i've wanted to do since i was 6) but we'll see how it all goes....

no cvs today for me either i don't think. i was going to go tonight but its so hot here! even the puppies don't really want to walk. we're all :sleepy: we used to go in the pool & go swimming but my landlord caught us one day and said no more doggies in the pool (even though we are pretty much the only one who ever goes up tot he roof to use it!) :mad:

I do application support and today Friday seems like everyone cleared out! I just started CVSing a couple of months ago when I started to realize how much money I was spending on baby stuff. Our baby boy turned 9 months last Friday. I think everyone I know will be getting some type of basket this Xmas...I mean better to give them something they will use instead of having to think what they will like.

So I am still a little confused about the coupon thread. I see some noobies over there somewhat off topic at times. Are you supposed to discuss the coupons there or not. Cartsmanlikespie says he needs the discussion to help him update the wiki and he doesn't want to go searching the other threads. So I just avoid that thread except to go print my coupons.

KimD! Have I been missing any valuable tips from you? I don't believe I saw your post last night. Oh okay. Something happened last night many were missing. So is your store clearing out of the detergent too? I am going to the 24 CVS store tonight. The cashier from hell is working but so is the assistant manager who will be ringing up my order as per the managers instructions. I have to use up my big $48 ECBs. Did you mention the floor sweeper is a good one to buy. Edlind mentioned that too. If anyone has any ideas of good things to buy to use up some of my ECBs please share.

yes!! that's the problem. that's why you can't tell too many people about your coupon-ing. betsy and i were talking about that the other day. you can't let everyone know the extent of your shopping or they'll think you are strange, weird and a little "off"... well, maybe i am. :lmao:
then they won't appreciate the gifts either. they don't realize it a helluva amount of work planning, cutting, lists etc....
the thing is i enjoy it immensly. i've always loved to shop but 4 kids and rough financial situation changed that. this satisfies my love for shopping and saving at the same time. right?

Also our WIC will probably have a big shelf in it. i might also take a space in the garage for ONE shelf (so as not to upset the man of the house with his tools).

i will be garage saleing alot of the stuff at the new place at the end of the month and HOPEING to get $400 for all my stuff.

cvs is helping me decorate though! nice little autum bowls, hopefully plants will show up sometime, candy for the bowls, free gift cards etc. :lmao:

The care packages for the kids (with a little bit of everything in them) for Christmas was what got me started on CVS :nod: I just can't wait to put them together :dance13: I'm going to use big storage tubs and fill them up and wrap a big bow around them. My stash is in the basement and I can't decide if I want to load the tubs in the basement and make the guys bring them up on Christmas morning or load the tubs upstairs and make 3 million trips up and down the basement stairs. I'm leaning towards doing it in the basement cuz I have a bad knee but those tubs are gonna be soooo heavy :eek: Even my dogs are getting a gift basket this year! They always get something for Christmas but this year will be better than any other year for them!

The one I found in the store for some kind of freeze something or other worked. Miranda posted one four to a page. I think the number ( a little blurred) is 46243. I am afraid to use it and it doesn't work then it messes up my deal and I actually have to pay $2 more:shake:

Yes! I am going soon. Try to do my deal plan. Have to use up these $48 ECBs. I am not getting back much though because DH says to get the floor sweeper and to stop saving the bucks to buy more things we don't want. So I am going to get one for my mom too. He says to also get a new alarm clock for my son as if we don't have clocks all over the house because he has to see the time everywhere. My stash is in the basement and I can't decide if I want to load the tubs in the basement and make the guys bring them up on Christmas morning or load the tubs upstairs and make 3 million trips up and down the basement stairs. I'm leaning towards doing it in the basement cuz I have a bad knee but those tubs are gonna be soooo heavy :eek: Even my dogs are getting a gift basket this year! They always get something for Christmas but this year will be better than any other year for them!

yeah its a game to me too. i started out just being happy to get toothpaste diapers and other household items we need that really jack up our cost. i remember the good ole days (like 2 yrs ago! :lmao:) when i could get 2 weeks worth of food, household items, diapers and baby food for less than $130 per shopping trips (2x a month). now i usually spend $100 every 2 weeks on JUST groceries and with 2 kids in diapers i would go broke buying dipes and wipes...and wouldn't be able to brush our teeth.

plus as my mom has mentioned its a great way to get retail therapy without the retail shock of prices. i love to shop but have never been able to just go buy stuff when i wanted. it always has to be planned, on sale, and hopefully a coupon....of course thats cvs shopping but YKWIM right?

well, in some states, the laws have changed on what can and cannot be bought with food stamps. In some states, not even female monthly items can be purchased with food stamps. anyone think about the extra $10/50 and the BRAND NEW $2/10's? this is certainly showing that cvs LIKES these q's and wants customers to continue useing them! by making more of them i see it as a plus for all of us. making the $2/10 i think they are targeting their normal audience who come in to fill RX and just buy a coke and a candy bar. if your going to spend $5 why not spend another $5 (maybe a mag while waiting??!!) and get $2 off your order. certainly shows their marketing dept. is saying the $ q's are working in their favor! :clap:

Tried doing the Santa Hat on the boxer - Sofie - but she was very uncooperative. Molly lets you put it on her but then she won't move. It's like she thinks she's glued to the floor or something :lol: God love her - she's so sweet :heart:

Basically train people on anything computer-related they need trained on (our mainframe, Windows applications, imaging software....) and do some data analysis. Someone asked what we do (that's about as far as I made to catch up...but I'm working on it). I work as a Systems Trainer and Analyst. Basically train people on anything computer-related they need trained on (our mainframe, Windows applications, imaging software....) and do some data analysis. Oh, and just help whoever needs helped with computer stuff.... :)

Going back to check out what all has been posted....

Oh yeah, are we still allowed to talk about CVS? :lol: I went last night and got a great haul--spent $13 ECB, $2 OOP (didn't calculate value of Qs to give ECB first..) and $20 ECB back! Woohoo! Sitting down to make plan for tomorrow now....no time to CVS today--it's a big day for the Buckeyes!
