View Full Version : CVS 12/9-12/15 Discussion (incl questions, scenarios, chat)
The Ad/Deals thread for this week is HERE (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=59052&t=670693).
There are two CVS threads for each weekly ad. So, how do you know what to put where?
- Anything that everyone needs to know should go in the Ad/Deals thread (prices, coupons, what worked that shouldn't have, what didn't work that should have). The Wiki post (always the 2nd post in a thread) is updated constantly by users just like you!
- Ask yourself: "Does someone who is checking this thread via dialup before going to CVS really need to know this information?" If not, put it in the Discussion thread!
- Other stuff like questions, scenarios, what you plan to buy, what you bought, how great the deals are, how bad the deals are, chat where you're getting to know other SD CVS'ers etc, should all go in the discussion thread for each week.
Keeping track of all the CVS threads:
Subscribe to the threads you want to keep track of. (See links below)
To subscribe to a thread when you're already in the thread:
- go to the top of the page
- click on Thread Tools on the upper right hand side
- click Subscribe to this thread
To see the threads you've subscribed to, click "User CP". It's at the top of every page on the left. Any of your subscribed threads that have new posts will show in the center of the page. You can also click “View all subscribed threads” to see all threads, whether they have new posts or not.
(You can also 'sticky' every CVS thread to the top (also under Thread Tools), so if you go into Hot Deals or Deal Talk or Coupons you see all CVS threads at the top of the page.)
NEW: Too many pages in your CVS threads?
You can change your settings to show more posts per page, with the maximum being 40 posts per page. (This lets you scroll down more without having to keep hitting 'next page')
Go to “User CP”
Click on “Edit Options”
Scroll down until you see "Use this option to set the number of posts to show in a thread before splitting the display into multiple pages."
You'll see a drop down box where you can select the Number of Posts to Show Per Page.
If you make a change be sure to scroll down to the bottom and click on “Save Changes”

Are the $1.50 peelies on the cokes now, or did you get htem from before? I went to CVS on Monday, but didn't find any peelies. Also, I am so POed because I don't get CRTs. Everyone is able to make such great deals with them, and I have not gotten the first one. Thanks for letting me rant!

Both! I had a few from earlier at CVS and when I went in to the store last night I was able to get a few more since they were still on the packages.
The battery Q is still "hidden" in the thread and not in the Wiki because as far as we know it has not been released. It is NOT a good idea to start using the "found" coupons before you get word of someone officially receiving it in their email.

YMMV. Most stores won't allow it. There are still some that will.
If you have a $2/$10 and $5/$20, you would have to spend $30 to be able to use both.
Also, where is the Fusion coup? I know its P+G, but where exactly? Is the Energizer $5 coup. in the CVS circular?
Many Thanks!

1) Some stores/cashiers allow stacking. LuvSavns store allows her to stack. In my store for example, one time I was able to stack and another time not. Its very YMMV.
2) I think the gillette q was on the last but 1 page in the P&G 12/2 insert

i just cracked open the new ad i got in the mail today. i don't think i can do the razor, because i already did that last week. :P but i'm definitely in on the batteries if that coupon gets released, i am in desperate need of them - i had no idea i bought so many toys this year!
my first go at CVS a couple nights ago didn't go as well as i'd hoped. i went late at night again, had the same nice cashier guy as last time (he's just.. clueless is all). he and the manager didn't know how to make my bogo cg coupon work. i guess they didn't know it was bogo to begin with because they said it looked like the $6.99 was already taken off. they kept scanning the coupon and the register was beeping when they entered $6.99 and NOT taking it off. anyhow i'm not familiar with their register/ computer and what it's prompting them and beeping for (so couldn't "help" them) and didn't want to give the poor cashier too much trouble about it because of the whole revlon thing last week so i just let it go. i wanted to go back today during the day when i knew my favorite little blond dude would be working. -i know he knows how to because he did the cg bogo for me last time.- but.. my 1 q is gone because i left it with them at the store on the first trip and the q's i ordered did not come yet as expected. i usually get them on thursdays. (maybe late due to the bad weather?) long story short i think i may very well end up missing out on the p&g deal this week. oh well. at least i got a free box of cookies again. :D
oh yeah! i forgot - i got my first $4/$20 out of the price checker thing on that trip. i was so stoked. to tell the truth i was surprised to get it because i've read some of you had your cards for months before getting anything. (i've been able to get the $1 cookie and $3/$10 cvs brand every time before that.) i've only had my card for like 3 weeks now so i think my card must be a lucky one.
so for next week:
batteries :prays: q gets released in email
robitussin ($3 ipq)
advil ($2 ipq)
glucerna cereal ($2 q has HEB logo but does not say it can only be redeemed at HEB, so this is likely YMMV)
maybe dimetapp depending on price (i have a $2 printable q and its a weird kind of BOGO - buy one type and get a different type free)
maybe l'oreal HiP - get $2 ecb's wyb 1 prices start @ 6.89 and there are $2 q's from sunday's valassis
i've not a clue yet exactly how my deals are going down next week. i'm such a n00b at this. i've also only got $7 of ecb's to start with and no $/$$. but slowly but surely i'm starting to get this and figure things out.. like how adding a $2 box of cookies to my $18.97 order lets me use my $4/$20 and then $1 off the cookie.
(using that $4/$20 is why i decided to keep the cg lipstick this week even though i didn't get it free.. i thought it might jack that up and also mess up any ecb's i earn if my coupons come tomorrow. if i get my coupons, i'll try to get 4 free lipsticks and end up paying $7 for 6 of them which is fine. if it doesn't happen.. well.. that's just how it happens sometimes..)

My store starts next week's prices today. Does anyone know if:
1. Doritos will still be $3 and count for this week's PepsiCo deal but also BOGO? How many bags would we need to buy to reach $15?
2. Fragrances that are B1G1 50% off will still be $7 off?

Most kind of you. I would have ripped off a few for myself and left the rest. I get nervous taking peelies off products. I know I know, ethics stuff here. I do take them off if I think it is something I can use or something that I know goes on sale often. I have the guts to take maybe 2-3 at most. Same with tearpads, etc. My area on west coast of florida, no stores double, rebate forms are almost nonexistant, peelies and tear pad q's almost nonexistant. I get them when I can.

Everybody seems to be getting 2 Robitussin for $9.98 with 2 $3 mfr coupons = $3.98 and get $4 ecb.
I got a $2 crt for Advil Cold and Sinus earlier this week. And I think there is a printable $2 mfr coupon too. So I am planning to get the Advil Cold and Sinus and 1 Robitussin. I know I had to pay for the Advil Cold and Sinus at the Pharmacy area. So for Advil Cold & Sinus, $4.99 - $2 crt - $2 mfr coupon = $0.99. For Robitussin, $4.99 - $3 = $1.99. So total OOP is $2.98 and get $4 in ecb.

posted it before on last months' energizer deal but there are $3 manu coupons to be found at the grocery store that expires in 2008. at mine on the east coast, central MA, i found it at Pricechopper . Price-Rite also had some $7 ones (had to buy a combo of lithium and max) which expired - of no use now but just indicative of the kinds of lucrative coupons that can be found if you look. i'm glad i stopped by PC for a bag of chips to sneak into the cinema.

If the Doritos are still $3 and the BOGO is good -- you would need to buy 10 bags of Doritos. This is because the "free" one does not count when it is taken off via a CVS sale.
An example of this is this week's P & G promotion where you buy 2 Incredifull Lip Color for like $6.99 and since it is B1G1 you get 2 for $6.99. Only $6.99 of that counts towards your P & G total.
This assumes of course the BOGO isn't overriding this week, causing you to NOT get any credit at all!!
I would test it all and check back, but my stores never changes over the prices on Saturday.
Edit: Another user on the other message board has reported that it is NOT working, and that you will be charged the regular price for the Doritos and be given the B1G1 off of that. Since the Doritos are now regular price, you will receive NO credit for the PepsiCo ECB offer!

Please explain how you are able to use the 4/20, 5/15, and 2/10 when the Wiki says:
the coupon wiki says "Some cashiers will allow you to stack these coupons, some will not. Some will allow you to use two 4/20s on a $24 order, some will require a $40 order, and some will not allow more than one no matter what your total is. .." It's all YMMV.
glucerna cereal ($2 q has HEB logo but does not say it can only be redeemed at HEB, so this is likely YMMV)
nice, where did you get that?
strange about the CG issues, I had a trainee cashier last night and she got it in :dontknow: With that last CG bogo q some registers seemed to be set up to not allow more than one so maybe some stores are set up to be even more strict. odd
My store starts next week's prices today. Does anyone know if:
1. Doritos will still be $3 and count for this week's PepsiCo deal but also BOGO? How many bags would we need to buy to reach $15?
2. Fragrances that are B1G1 50% off will still be $7 off?
I don't think that would happen here. At least where I am, it's one sale or the other, not both. I suppose it depends on the manager if that would ever work.
If there's a BOGO sale then only the one you actually pay for will count towards the deal. - usually anyway, except for those energy drinks. that was a nice surprise
edit- I wish I could find a roll of coke peelies, or any coke peelies at all :sadwalk: leftnotright- next time feel free to grab lots, remember your friends on SD and how much they'd love for you to share and be happy to send some good stuff to you. I never take all of anything (unless there's only 1 or 2 anyway) but I will still take a bunch if there's a lot to be had. ;)

Where are all of you getting these $2.50 peelies for the batteries, and the $1.50 ones for coke from? I was in CVS last night, and there were no peelies on coke and only $1.00 ones on batteries.

Not sure about about the $2.50 Battery Qs but I had found $2 peelies a few months back ago and they're somewhere in my coupon folder but theres also $2 internet prints.
In regards to the $1.50 Coke Qs that are posted with this deal some areas had peelies on the coke and some didnt. My area had no peelies for coke but we had Pepsi coupons on the Bottles. Basically not a whole lotta good cuz its not my fave soda....Need my cola in the red can, but who refuses a deal on soda pop.

Is there a such, Always tampons?
Probably not. The ad item is for Always or Tampax and then the list of products follows. I have listed the sale under both Always and Tampax in the wiki (makes it easier for me to find coupons since I keep an alphabetical list). Since I can't be an expert on all products, I have adopted this way of listing deals since I'm almost never certain which items go with which brands (this is especially true when different brands are listed and then a size range, such as 0.5-1.1 oz, is listed). Sorry for any confusion this may cause you.

The other day at an un-named store there was a WHOLE ROLL of Coke peelies just laying on the shelf. Must have been at least 1000 or so! I just couldn't bring myself to snagging it!
I thought they came from the distributor with the peelies already on them! I am learning so much from this thread! Like others here, I can't bring myself to peel off any peelies unless I am taking the item to the register. And if I see a stack or a pad of Qs at the shelf, I only take 2. I don't know if I will need them and I'd be mad at myself if I took a bunch and then let them expire...I'd be thinking of everyone here that couldn't find coupons and I'd think it was because I took too many! But I DEFINITELY woulda snagged a couple from the roll!!

nice, where did you get that?

i got the glucerna $2 coupons from 11/18 SS-1. my local inserts did not have them, but they were in inserts i got from coupons & things by dede. they do say only 1 per transaction.. and i'm thinking it will be rather hard to get in 10 of these in different trips if i get cashiers that read the fine print (plus with the HEB). it expires 12/31/07.
since i'm sure i will only be able to get one of the glucerna for the ecb's - if there's anyone who can use these let me know, i'll be more than happy to send them your way. also if your stores carry borden dairy products - buttermilk, sour cream, milk, or whipping cream - none of my grocery stores do so i can't use these q's either (they expire 12/31). anybody want?
$2 any glucerna cereal - 9 *update: gone*
$1 borden milk 1 gal. or 2 half gal.'s - 5
$.55 borden sour cream 1 16 oz. or 2 8 oz. - 5
$.55 borden buttermilk half gal. - 5
$.25 borden whipping cream 1 pt. - 5
and speaking of using q's before they expire.. where was that place i can send my expired ones to so other people can use them? i remember someone talking about it around a month ago and can't find the thread again.

I will make a total of $7 profit on each card using these two transactions on each card. My OOP should be less than a few dollars, and I get all this cool stuff too. I am saving my Fusion coupons for the Target GC deal this week, or I would use them here as well. I am also going to do a test run first with only 1 BOGO Russell Stovers coupon and maybe a tiny bit of fillers, just to make sure it works before I do my big runs. If not, then I will just eliminate those. Hope this helps someone.

The Russell Stover BOGO qs worked fine for me this evening. Heck, the sweet cashier was encouraging me to get as many as I wanted coz "they had more stuff to put out." I was like, really? You don't mind? She was all, really, go ahead and get what you want. And I did. I got. A lot. Hehe. Since the store had already switched prices for next week (kind of sucked since I wanted the Doritos for the Pepsi deal but free RS trumped the Doritos loss), I got 20 free boxes of RS chocs for Christmas giveaways and the store still "had more stuff to put out." Too bad the store didn't have the sugar free boxes anymore or I would have gotten some of those for the older people on the list who need to mind their sugar intake but there is still time and other stores to check out. Anyway, hope you have similar luck with your stores!

Coupons for BOGO stuff always beep for an amount (at least at CVS) so the cashier will have to enter the amount manually. I just told the cashier to enter $7.99 per coupon and she did so. She kept telling me to add more which I did (the boxes were located just three steps away from the counter so it was pretty easy to grab the boxes) and she just entered 7.99 every time I handed a coupon to her. FWIW, the qs also worked for the $11.99 RS boxes that were BOGO two weeks ago but that was a bit more of a hassle since qs over the amount of $10 usually require a manager/supervisor key and I felt bad for the super who had to keep swiping his card for every BOGO q I gave. :D The q doesn't state a maximum amount so that might be why it works for all of the RS chocolates. HTH.

Oh, I planned this one ahead of time. Thanks to communities like these, I know ahead of time which items are going to be on sale and while I had 15 of the qs from my own inserts, I thought it would be fun to get a few extras from ebay and have been using them up for the last three weeks whenever I could to get free or close to free RS chocs. Got to say though, I don't even eat them (I hardly eat chocolates and when I do, I prefer Rocher or Lindt) but the boxes make for great Christmas gifts especially for work/clients/and those not-really-closely-connected-to-people who are on the list. By the time I use up all my qs though, I am afraid that everyone my family and I know will have RS boxes and should they happen to exchange info on what they got...

I have tried to search the different CVS boards for an answer to this question but I can't seem to find anything. It looks like a few of you are using 5 ECB from one transaction and then 5 ECB from another transaction to pay for a $10 + purchase. Do most stores let you do this? Mine said that it is only one ECB per person/transaction. Should I just try another store (there are lots by my house) or is this pretty standard everywhere?
TIA!

It is NOT supposed to be one ECB per transaction. Some stores set their own rules. Definitely try a different store. You'll probably run into fewer problems if you use different values of ECBs in the same transaction (ie use a $5 and a $4.99 rather than two $5s) , though the register will probably allow it, cashiers that don't understand ECBs might question it more.

Why are you shocked? I don't think it could be a "hidden monthly" - it was in two fliers so it should be good for each of the weeks....that's my take on it anyway.
KimD, how goes the job? I haven't been reading the boards in weeks...I miss it!

I don't think I've ever seen an ECB deal in two consecutive ads that reset before... now I'm wondering if the Glucerna also reset, for those areas that have it in their ads. Anyone?
And... the job is going good again. I took over the Beauty department and am trying to get it caught up. Let's just say :eek::eek:

TIA :)
also, what is the minimum/maximum pics you can put on a page? tyty

I'd like to know which ones you all are referring to myself. I found the below listed on TT. Would someone be a sweety and let me know which ones to use?
B1G1F Russell Stover Internationale, Private Reserve, or PR Origin Select, 4.5 oz.+ DND, exp. 12/31/07 (8/12 Val.)
B1G1F Russell Stover Internationale, Private Reserve, or PR Origin Select, 4.5 oz.+ DND, exp. 04/14/08 (10/14 Val.)
B1G1F Russell Stover Sugar Free, any 3 oz. bag, exp. 5/31/08 (10/21 Val.)
B1G1F Russell Stover Sugar Free, any 3 oz. bag, exp. 5/31/08 (10/21 Val.)
Thanks for this info! The 3 ounce bags should NOT be used because the fine print reads that RS will only reimburse the retailer up to $1.79 per bag.
However, the coupons from the 8/12 and 10/14 should be fine.
I will rep you once I get my reps back. :)

The photobooks are great! They are well worth the $13 even without the coupon and ecb, but for $3 they're a steal! Thanks to another SDer sending me coupons, I will be making several more. They're my alternative to scrapbooking (which I do not do!)

For those of you planning to do the $4.99 Robitussin/Advil deal (2/$5 ECB), if you don't already have it bookmarked, here (https://j.ovm1.net/wch1/Robitussinstandalone/default.aspx?c=1373&p=ROB06019&s=01) is the Robitussin $3 coupon and here (https://j.ovm1.net/wch1/AdvilCoupon/registration.aspx?c=1381&p=ADVCPP0609&s=01) is the $2 Advil coupon. Each coupon has a unique security code, so don't be GREEDY and print out more than one with the same number. The sites allows you to fill out/print additional coupons without 'freezing' or anything special.

Try another store! I used $130 in ECBs last night...
Why are you shocked? I don't think it could be a "hidden monthly" - it was in two fliers so it should be good for each of the weeks....that's my take on it anyway.
KimD, how goes the job? I haven't been reading the boards in weeks...I miss it!
if it were a hiddne monthly someone had to have hit the limit. i bought 2 last week and 1 this week so that's three... i bought 2 last week on the same card and used coupons, didn't return it because of the coupons. too much drama.
I don't think I've ever seen an ECB deal in two consecutive ads that reset before... now I'm wondering if the Glucerna also reset, for those areas that have it in their ads. Anyone?
yeah me either
not sure about the glucerna deal.

I did not get the ECBs on Friday when I bought the Doritos. Believe it or not they had already turned on the Sunday prices on Friday night so they rang up $3.49. The manager gave me $7.50 cash and I bought the Doritos again Saturday at another store and got the ECBs. Kinda makes up for the $10 ECBs I didn't get on the Triaminic and Fefreeze deals.

The photobooks are really nice. I made the smaller one 6x8 (I think) and I was really impressed, it was 10 pages and about 23 pictures total. Then I decided to make the bigger one 8 x 10 and it was fabulous. I'm really picky about photography and printing and I usually photoshop all my photos so I pretty much know my way around and I found this product to be an incredible value for its price even without all the coupons and crts.

The part where you can 'use the back arrow in your browser and print a second coupon with a different number' only works with the bricks coupon printer program you have to install when printing their coupons. These 2 coupons aren't bricks coupons and don't work like that. If you want to print more than 1 coupon, you have to refill out the info again.
Also, in case you get a coupon browser window that doesn't have the left and right arrow buttons, you can press ctrl-n to get a new window with the buttons. It seems they are trying to prevent people from using the back arrow button to print a second coupon.

Today when I went to CVS I saw the cashier was the older gnetleman who's nice, but a lil hyper. When I checked out I saw him look at my decent sized cart full and then he changed out his register tape. Though he didn't close the printer door hard enough cause when the receipt printed there was a 1" wide blank gap down the reciept and across the ECB's and their barcodes. O.O He said that it would be okay when I bring them in to use them, but I know better than that! I asked if he could reprint the receipt so he called the manager for assistance. The manager just happened to be the evening manager who is 'nice and quiet.' I named all the ECB's that should have printed and they verified them in the ad. The manager gave me a money card, which is even better than the ECB's as I can use it with another card!

just do the sign up over and over again. stick a period somewhere in your email address: my.email@somewhere.com counts as different from myemail@somewhere.com It should be fine to leave everything else the same (I think)
I really think there's a sign up for the advil coupon, I don't think it's ok to just print that one. They wouldn't have a security code at all if there's only one version. I know I've printed it from a sign up like the Rob one but I can't find it right now. I will look again when I get time. IMO, please don't print the identical version.

Since all the razors are sometimes producing ECBs and sometimes not, maybe its just as spookilove was talking about in the hotdeals thread - if you buy the same one as last week you don't get ECB. If you buy a different one you get the ECB?? I bought 2 power razors last week and 2 manuals today on 2 cards and I got my ECBs on both..

short answer: technically yes, but YMMV
it depends on the cashier. Some will not let you use more than 1 CVS q and one man. q per product. The register will only stop you if you have more CVS q's or more man. q's than items. If you buy one more item, the register will let you use two CVS q's no matter what the second item is.

probably
you could probably use a CRT for diapers with that order if the cashier doesn't care at all (I wouldn't do it, but CRTs don't seem to be tied to the products at all).
Some stores won't let you use ECBs and coupons for stamps and alcohol but I've bought both that way. As long as the cashier is fine with it, it should work.
I've never bought those things alone, so I guess it's possible they don't count as items (I've been told milk doesn't count as an item toward using coupons - but that could be BS). if that's the case you could thrown in a candy bar or something

Can ECB's be used to buy stamps?
yes, assuming the cashier doesn't tell you no (pretty much the same as buying alcohol).
last week I had about $18 of ECB producing stuff and a book of stamps. I paid with a 5/15 and a 2/10, about $14 in ECBs and $3.75 in man. q's. No problems, no beeps. I even used the ECBs after all the q's.
I would stack more but it's not a very q friendly store and I was just happy to finally get a good cashier.

sorry for your loss. i made a photobook, but it wasn't as quick as they claimed. i had a lot of technical difficulties with the machine.
there is an option for photobook on the kodak machine. the option was only on 1 of the 4 machines at the cvs i shop so just ask which one you need to use to get started. i think the maximum photos you can use for a 10 page 6x8 book is 54. once you upload your pics it automatically distributes them evenly over the 10 pages, but you can move them around if you like. it helps if they are uploaded in the order you want them to appear in the book. make sure to doublecheck everything once it prints. i had printing issues as well! :)...good luck!!!

I have done three books. You may not want to move any pictures around. None of the books printed out the way they were when previewed. Pictures I had moved got moved again by the machine and many were cut off. Did this at two different stores. Manager at one store said this happens all the time - happened on her books also. Seems best way to handle this is to just leave everything where the machine puts them

there is an option for photobook on the kodak machine. the option was only on 1 of the 4 machines at the cvs i shop so just ask which one you need to use to get started. i think the maximum photos you can use for a 10 page 6x8 book is 54. once you upload your pics it automatically distributes them evenly over the 10 pages, but you can move them around if you like. it helps if they are uploaded in the order you want them to appear in the book. make sure to doublecheck everything once it prints. i had printing issues as well! :)...good luck!!!
thanks! theres 2 machines at my cvs and neither of them have the photobook option. i was thinking maybe id have to make 10 of the photo collages and just give them the pages. i guess ill ask a mgr when i go in there today.

Its not illegal- grocery stores here in NC charge .50 more per book.
My first job in h.s. was at a Hallmark store that had what was essentially a Mail Boxes, Etc. store in the back half. They charged an extra penny per stamp and they charged more for USPS shipping than if you went to the post office. The owner (who was a real piece of work--ugh--the stories I could tell!) basically was like "Well . . . if they don't want to pay my prices they can go to the post office, but then they'd have to wait in a longer line"

Where did u get the Robitussin coupon?

Where is the "anticipated" CVS battery q for $5? I have searched and my search is coming up empty. In the cvs coupon thread towards the end.
Do you think the Fusion deal is going to reset? I'm wondering if it'll just roll over from this week or maybe ne a hidden monthly thing.
You probably got your answer. But here it is anyway. It did reset :)
The other day at an un-named store there was a WHOLE ROLL of Coke peelies just laying on the shelf. Must have been at least 1000 or so! I just couldn't bring myself to snagging it!
Awww. Delicious q's, but like you, i would not have taken them all either. I could never bring myself to take so many.. and then i feel bad all night for NOT taking them.
Expiring ECB Update
I know many people were amazed at my ECB stockpile so I thought I'd provide an update.
Total on Card #1 $486.89 + Total on Card #2 $354.17 = $841.06
Expiring this week on Card #1 $56.99 on the 12th and $19.00 on the 15th
Expiring this week on Card #2 $6.00 on the 11th and $29.00 on the 12th
Total expiring on the 12th $85.99 (Holy Crap - I better get to CVS!!)
Total expiring this week $110.99
I will be getting batteries in every single order this week (even after I get the ECBs)
Ouch I totally feel your pain. I have about 800 on 3 cards spread out, and have over 100 expiring this week so I totally feel how you're feeling. The thing is i'm soooo unmotivated. But i will motivate myself now for a little run. At least recycle like $20 or so.

On topic did anyone else get burned on the Pepsi deal last week. The Pepsi deal a few weeks ago included Dr. Pepper in our store. But did not last night and I didn't realize it until I was home. ARGH!
I did twice, they finally said screw it, and wrote 7.50 ECB on the receipt, and I used it on another order, because I wanted to makesure I got it

I want to let everyone know of a good deal regarding the photo books at CVS, but I'm not sure how to post the deal.
The 6x8 photo books are on sale currently at CVS for 12.99 with $3 in Extracare bucks that print out when you buy one.
First, use a 2 off 10 dollar coupon, bringing your total down to 10.99, then use this coupon for $3 off, making your total 7.99.
Then you will receive $3 in ECBs. Seems like a good deal to me, these can be made instantly in store. Here is the link for the coupon:

Same thing happened with my book in regards to the pictures not staying where I moved them and getting cut off.
At my store the instant Kodak machine is the one that makes the books. Took me forever to figure that out.
Yes it is just 10 collages that get stapled and then stuck into the cover. I'd ask first about just making 10 collages, though they do just scan the bar code on the back cover of the book...

If I can make it that way to see my brother, I'll stop by to say hello.
Thanks for this info! The 3 ounce bags should NOT be used because the fine print reads that RS will only reimburse the retailer up to $1.79 per bag.
However, the coupons from the 8/12 and 10/14 should be fine.
I will rep you once I get my reps back. :)
Thanks. I guess I need to really pay close attention to the ad. When I quickly glanced at I just noticed the Coke deal. I've got to get there ASAP before they run out like they did last time. I still have a r/c from when they were 5/$12 (buy 4, get 1 free).

I have done three books. You may not want to move any pictures around. None of the books printed out the way they were when previewed. Pictures I had moved got moved again by the machine and many were cut off. Did this at two different stores. Manager at one store said this happens all the time - happened on her books also. Seems best way to handle this is to just leave everything where the machine puts them
For those that have printed a book, can you just upload 1 picture per page? I'm wanting to do 1 scrapbook (digital) page on each...er, well, page. LOL So I wouldn't need any theme, just a blank page with the picture (layout). TIA!

Ok. Went back CVS today to use a different card and get in on the fusion razor for an extra Xmas present. The had the Phantom Power with shaving cream bonus. It looked exactly like the one I bought last night that gave this ECBs. However, the bar code was different. When I get to register, it rings up $11.99. Cashier told me that the ones with the Bonus doesnt Count as part of the deal. Of course she didnt know I was just there last and got one of the bonus phantom powers that did count.
Based on this, I am thinking that the bonus packs were never supposed to count in the deal. And that just so happens SOME of the bonus packs have a different bar code (from the other bonus packs) that does indeed count. Again, here is the Bar Code that did work last night...

Possibly, you can ask. If you don't ask, you don't get to use the coupon, so the better choice is to just ask. If they say no, then you really haven't lost anything.

No extra charge (I think that's illegal!).
In CA the drugstores definitely add a "convient charge" to the stamp books, quite a hefty one too.
In Texas the grocery stores always separate the stamps from grocery items and ring the stamps on a separate transaction, at least that was when we lived in Houston a few years ago. You also were not allowed to pay for the stamp by CC back then.
In Florida, Publix just mixed the stamps with other items - there is no distinction.

You know, normally I'm cool with the occasional CVS deal getting highlighted in the main "hot deals" area... but the current battery thread is out of control. I have a bad feeling some of us normal (???), follow-the-rules, CVSrs are going to get hosed as a result of the actions of some crazed random SDrs.
Hopefully I'm wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if the stores tarred all of us with the same brush.

I'm NOT so cool with the individual CVS threads since it generally brings the crazies out of the woodwork and makes them go more loco. First the Nova, then the Breeze 2 and now so many of the Energizer threads..Makes me  But now I am getting used to these threads..If it was the Nova for the last month, this week its the Energizer madness and god knows what next week..
But I do have to say that while some people are really crazy in those threads, there are others that are helpful and some others who are really very funny (like audierules)
Some people on the Energizer thread are really new to CVS, don't know what ECB is what EC card is and I'm trying so hard to resist replying in that thread. If it was one of the regular CVS threads I surely would have replied..But I currently don't feel like adding to the madness in that thread..Regardless, I'm hooked on reading it...

I think that's a justified concern. Most CVS employees don't understand coupons so when someone tries to get around the system they don't recognize the difference between what we do and what those people do.
This has been discussed some in the BS thread too. There are a lot of CVSers who are tired of people storming in who don't know how to shop at CVS and can't accept that most deals there are YMMV.

Did the J&J Spend 19.99 Get 10 EB expire. It was on my receipt 12/6 and I was working my way towards the 19.99. Purchased enought today to put me over my total, but didn't get the $10 EB and it didn't show on my receipt either. Hmm? Did I wait too long? Any ideas?
Since no one answered my question I called and found out this one died on 12/8. Since my last purchase was on 12/9 I was SOL. The CR did give me one EB for the trouble. Thanks anyway. High five myself, no friends.

After reading just a tiny bit of that thread, this was my thought exactly. I know a lot of us are not using that coupon till it is sent out officially, but now with so many using it (another board also has it listed as hot deal and it has lots of traffic), concerned that cvs will notice this coupon usage before they even released this coupon. With all the great cvs deals, hope this doesn't cause things to change.

yes, you can have just one on a page. I have made 4 books so far and love it! The only problem I have come across is if you have more than one form of media to get your pictures from, I used cd's, your title page will have to be picked from the last one you put in. Or you'll have to start all over. The title/cover page is shown through on the black cover so it is made a little smaller.

although i did apply for a job there today. not sure how it went, i talked to the floor manager a bit and he seemed pretty positive. i'm optimistic at least and it would be a nice change from where i am now. i just scanned my card at the thingy for my q's and that was it - i was too busy to buy anything today.

So this got me thinking (no small feat, mind-you)...does CVS create coupons (like the $5 Energizer) and just never release them, or are they released to only a select few like the CEO's nephews and no one else? It seems pointless to me for CVS to create a coupon, activate it in their system, and never "release" it to the public.

I had the same problem with the P&G deal. We were only 4 cents away on one card and $7.00 on the other. The cashier told us we had the rest of the month to make purchases to get the $5.00 ECB...but no.....they expired at the end of last week. I called CS about the 4 cents card, and they were very nice, and are issuing us "courtesy" ECBs in the amount of $5.00. Didn't want to say anything about the other card that was $7.00 away, or make to big a deal out of this. It might rock the CVS gravy train boat!

My first and last time at a Mail Boxes Etc.was about 20 years ago. I brought in a package and they said "Oh, you need a few more pieces of tape here and there." They proceeded to put 3 two inch piecs of regular scotch tape on different parts of the package and charged me 50 cents for each piece! Then they charged me about $5.00 over the going rate to mail a package UPS. Well, I found out I could take that package to my local Drug Mart, and mail it UPS for a 75 cent handling charge, and they have a post office in the store as well - as do a lot of our local supermarkets. So, Mail Boxes Etc. can stick it where the sun don't shine. Ha! ;)

I read on one of the threads here last night, that the Energizer coupon was a go as of 12-9, so I used them today. They all scanned no problem; no beeps or anything. I saw a freshly unpacked display of Energizer batteries laying off to one side with a typed message to the store manager that they were to be used for this week's promotion. Makes sense that the coupon would be released at the same time. Three per card for a total of $15 spent, and got my $5.00 ECBs back too. The coupon also scanned for the rechargeable batterie
