View Full Version : Make $14 on Oral-B 7400 at CVS after PM/coupons/Rebate YMMV

This is my first post so be easy on me.
Wal-Mart has Oral-B 7400 for $50, price match it to CVS, use $10 manufacturer coupon and $4 of $20 CVS coupon and there is $20 rebate on it but hold on, CVS is giving $30 ExtraCare buck on this model. Therefore the math will be 50-10-4-20-30=14.
Absolutely this is YMMV.
Thank you for listening and easy on me.

CVS does PM if you present other store ad and thats what I did showed them the Wal-Mart ad, no issues with PM.

I think the time it would take me to convince a person at CVS to price match another store, would not be worth the amount of time I'd spend doing so.

You could say whatever you want too but without trying do not came a conclusion. I had never issues PM at CVS if I am showing proper ad, and I have also confirmed with different store mangers about their PM policy. You could also call a CVS and confirm their PM policy. But still it is YMMV.

Where is the Walmart ad ? Is there a circular or newspaper ad ?

chumleyuo

You could always stop by a Walmart and pick up an ad if need be, which is what I'll likely do. Also, Walmart.com will likely show it if you look up your local store's circular.

No offense, but with the number of CVS slickdealers on this board, I think we would have heard about any formal, consistent, nationwide pricematching policy by now. Certainly they would put in in their weekly ad. Perhaps your particular store or a particular manager does it to be competitive with Wal-Mart (maybe the stores are next door to each other).

I just picked one of these up from Linens N Things for $25 after using the 20% off coupon online and another in the store + the $20 rebate.

I wish I had waited since I am a regular CVS customer.

Thanks alot! I just picked one up (although I screwed up and didn't give them my 5 off 25 and/or 4 off 20). I simply asked if they would price match Walmart, the manager said "What's the difference, how much are you costing me" in a joking way. I showed him and he approved it. Although I couldn't find the $20 rebate.

I went to a second CVS (I have two extra care cards) and the cashier said "CVS doesn't price match with anyone except prescriptions with RiteAid and Walgreens" I asked if she was sure and she called the manager. The manager said the same thing, "CVS doesn't price match."

Anyway, I got one at least. Thanks for your time of putting the post together!

I wish my CVS would price match. They are willing to take ONE competitor q per transaction though. Wasn't there some sort of oral b rebate in the coupons this past Sunday (12-2). Mine are at work now but I could swear I saw something of the sort.

Got the second one tonight, no problem with PM. Cashier called the manager for confirmation. Used $10 Mfg coupon and 4 of 20 CVS coupon. Last time mfg coupon scaned but this time cashier entered manually. Got $30 ExtraCare bucks and will be mailing $20 rebate tomorrow.

Geez - how much is your time worth?

If you were there anyway, all you have to do is ask if they will price match the wally world flyer. If they will, it's worth the minimal time to get a free Oral-B plus $15 profit.

My only heartburn with this deal is that it's extremely YMMV. I have never heard of any CVS that does pricematches and I know that my local one will not (just called to ask).

Well after the first CVS price matched I had 3 other failures, then one more success ... kind of. The last place I went said they would price match it, then as I'm buying it they said we are going to either price match it without ECB or sell it at regular price with ECB. I said "ECB money comes from the manufacturer, why would you care either way?" (as this was my understanding). The lady said "No, it comes from this store." I told her that I understand and will have to pass then. So I'm 1-3-1 (the tie being the last place). BTW, who was right about ECBs, me or the cashier?

This is why CVS doesn't PM on anything other than prescriptions.

I have a new slick deal. Go to Walmart, and try to PM the CVS ECB deal. Won't work, either.

In other words, both Walmart and CVS are discounting the toothbrush this week. Walmart cut their price, while CVS issues ECBs.

Good try, OP. :) However, IMHO there are more than enough free ECBs to be earned at CVS the old-fashioned way than to bother the managers with PM requests.

Yes, you have to have the UPC for both the mail in rebates along with the original receipt. Not many CVS's price match, but if they do They probably won't for an add that is not current. And they probably won't accept the online add either, but as everything depends on cashier and managers. GOOD LUCK!

I have returned stuff before that I paid for with extra care bucks and cash and they refunded it all in cash, but they may put it on a money card depending on cashier manager, I don't know of a time they have ever taken extra care bucks away. I have only done it one time and most the time they don't even know that you received ECB for an item. So you should be fine.

The walmart ad, isn't it ended?
I saw this post yesterday around midnight and checked the walmart ad and found the product, but the price is valid until yesterday (12/8).
So, I thought, even with the ad, CVS wouldn't honor it.

Of course, getting it for nothing is really tempting.

Current CVS deal would be 89.99 price - 30 ECB - 20 manufacturer's rebate - 10 manufacturer's coupon - $4 off $20 + tax. Still good...

There is no ECB this week that ended on the 8th.
