Looks like they at Mircosoft need to actualy read these books more than anybody else, to learn how to write a simple download page. It does not even work with their own browser. :vomit:

It is NOT an MS page; a third-party, LibreDigital, is providing those books. Perhaps THEY should have used .NET and read a book or two about how to keep a website going.
At the bottom of the page with the link downloads:

Thanks a lot!! I might create a .Net 3.0 course (independent study) and learn the material!!
You guys sure you want these books? Only one of them (the LinQ one) is nearly complete. The AJAX one is missing over 150 pages. The Silverlight book is missing pages 32 through 118 inclusive and then missing pages 143 to 211. This offer really shouldn't be on the front page.

Again, the other two books are missing so many pages, they might not be worth downloading as you'll end up having to get a complete version somehow anyway.
Here is the ASP.Net AJAX book for those who want it despite all the missing pages. http://rapidshare.com/files/83755739/Introducing_ASP.Net_AJAX.pdf

Last and certainly least, here is the very cut-up Silverlight book. http://rapidshare.com/files/83757225/Introducing_Microsoft_SilverLight_1.0.pdf
If you have never used Rapidshare before, you go to the page from the links above, scroll down and click on the "Free" button at the bottom of the table to start the download process. It'll go to a page where you have to wait a little bit. Then it will ask you to enter a set of letters and numbers it shows you (to keep out bots). Then you click on the download button.

When you follow the link, it says, "Get access to the entire contents of the print book, Introducing Microsoft Linq, as well as additional chapters from the other two titles when you sign up for the download:"
Seems that only the Linq book is downloadable in it's entirety. The other two books offer only two sample chapters each, even if you sign in with your Live ID.

Sure you can get the files, but when you look into the AJAX and Silverlight books, they are not the entire books (as they clearly say on the web site) only the LINQ book is posted in it's entirety.
The files posted by DigitalXaos on Rapidshare are also the same - confirm for yourself. If you have the entire books for AJAX and Silverlight, please post them to Rapidshare - I would like the Sliverlight book. Thanks.

Try saving the file to your computer first. Is it a PDF file? You may need to use IE to get the file if you're having trouble with FireFox.
